Nothing like that teenage love. I kinda miss it. The rawness of the new feeling, the absolute short-sightedness, the feeling that you'll never find someone like them again, the willingness to upend your whole everything if it meant them smiling just once, the quiet desperation. Toxic as hell but like most things bad for you it can feel so goddamn good sometimes

This song is perfect for the soundtrack of Baz Luhrmann's Romeo and Juliet. It describes the intoxicating, unexplainable, almost INSANE love that the two characters shared with each other. Baz is a genius for making the movie the way it was.

wallstreetfox3 Its Romeo and Juliet, no vampires here. This movie is strangely modernized with biblical references in it. An example would be the scene at the gas station, when they pull their guns out (sword is written on the side of the pistol.) Not to mention the "Christ the Redeemer" statue (Which I believe is located in Rio de Janeiro,) in the movie as well. If you like modernized Shakespeare, then Hamlet is another good one with Ethan Hawke. Though many simply do not have a taste for it.

First time I heard this song, I was in fifth grade. My mom's boyfriend at the time...my sister's dad...bought me the movie so me and my friends could watch it at my sleepover for my birthday, but I ended up watching it alone the next day, and Todd saw how much I was loving it, so he went out and bought me the CD, too. Twelve years later, and I still LOVE it.

i love the old Garbage album. and i love Shirley. i remember i love this movie, and at the same time glad that garbage covered one of their sound track. and bought the cassette tape as well of romeo and juliet. i just remember this song today, that's why i am here right now. studying in a christian protestant school, we were not allowed to listen to this kind of music, but i still listen... cause i like garbage, back in the 90's.
