What's up Lex. Great change out in record time! I've used a very small amount of cooking oil to soften hardened plumbers putty when needed. Never had a call back due to that. Another professional install. Good catch to remember the dishwasher connection prior to pulling the plug, my friend! Here on the west coast, InSinkErator seems to be the go-to. I've done lots of them and are always ticked when I come across some weird branded disposal. Total agreement on the beauty of the squish out.

I wish people would understand that silicone is not as good as putty for no application ever. Plumbers putty came straight from the plumbing gods and siliconr is the devils work. Thanks for giving putty its due love!

Heya Lex ! Whenever I did a water side repair, I'd lay out the blue paper shop towels underneath the repair (disposal, toilet supply line, new faucet, etc) and if a single drop was to be found, it would change the color to a darker blue and be much easier that free (eye) ballin' it :)

thanks for teaching us disposals today if i could add one thing to make your life maybe easier is either finding a short impact drill or an angle bit thinger you put it in your drill and a bit in the 90 elbow. or use a screw gun that can go straight up or maybe bend might need a 8v for torque?
