Garcia 3000 spin fishing reel how to take apart and service

Hello Dennis - - - Never seen or heard of this Mitchell Garcia 3000 before - the inside looks very simple to service - good video -

It is very simple and quite a departure from the Mitchell 300. This is not a Mitchell reel. It is only a Garcia branded reel.

I was actually looking for info. resetting the bail spring. I finally figured it out. Seeing yours helped me remember how it looked (before I fixed it). You do fantastic work. Attention to detail and lub. is key to maintaining these gems. My reel is .40+ years old and works like new. There's nothing like the sound of the bail closing and the sound of the reel when using an old Rapala (also 40 years old)

Love those Mitchell's. I have a 306 308 and two of the new 300's. I paid $45 cdn for them last year. Saw the Shimano Stella at the sporting goods store for $1327. Glad I made the best buy and save $2564.

Dennis, I have two Garcia 9600, a 9000, and four Garcia GK 280 reels that I like a lot. All these Garcia reels are pretty nice. I’m not a fan of plastic spools though! I sent you an e-mail about a Daiwa Million DX 7000 I just got. - Chris

I still have my original 300 & 308s (mid 60's, French), both are in fine condition. Those were the days when rubber worms first came to market (Creme pre-rigged, everyone laughed at me for using them!). Only issue I've ever had is broken bail springs???

The bail springs will break, just like a coat hanger, after repeated flexing. Thank goodness the replacements are still available! Thanks for the note - Dennis

Great Video, I just came across one of these. The bailer doesn't flip as it should. I haven't pulled it apart yet, do you have any pointers? Can you get parts for these units?
