The biggest issue I see with BER is a bad watering schedule. Plant can't uptake calcium to the fruits without regular water. Since we have had zero rain for almost a month. I've had a very regular water schedule and I haven't had one issue this year. Granted I do put pulverized eggshells in every winter but a watering schedule has vastly improved my end rot issues

Very helpful thank you. It's vital that it don't get into the soil once you have reaped vegetables like that it is very easy to have it going back into the ground then you will end up with more.

Great tips as always, Sarge! I will try the egg shell route as I freeze-dry some eggs once in a while. The only thing I have on our garden are a couple of citrus trees and some pesky weeds. But I would try this as our soil for sure lacks the nutrients and minerals needed for a successful garden.

I've had it off an on... part of the problem for me, is because I have a small property... my composting is limited... I have to import soil ammendments and it's always a game of correction. When I lived in Kentucky and Massachusetts, I never had BER, but I also was able to "make" my own soil with tons of compost.
@OttoJulian_

great tips Sarge! Why are you hiding the sub count?
@PreppingWithSarge
@PreppingWithSarge 2 жыл бұрын
Good question! doing a one month experiment So far, it has not improved anything. I have always suspected that it was a myth that people were more likely to subscribe if you hide the count, but some youtubers maintain this... just running a personal experiment. you were the first to notice! sub count is at 2553 for reference

Hi Bonnie, this calcium supplement has completely fixed my BER problem! Hope it helps you. It only took a little bit around each one, so I have plenty left over for next year (and maybe even the year after). Worth it in my opinion! but if money is tight, maybe try the crushed up egg shells in the soil
