Honestly I never liked Garden of Eyes mod simply because you have to pay for it, which is bullshit but trying to be as objective as possible I have to say that most of these weapons look pretty uninspired, a lot of them just have a different (simetimes very very slightly different) models and different vfx but pretty much identical to others, it just feels uninspired, quantity over quality. if anything I have to say that this video just makes me appreciate the Convergence mod even more and I am really thankful to the dev team for the awesome work they have put out.

It's worse knowing they make you pay for it MONTHLY in the case it updates, not just one and done. They also claim to "make the mod free when its done", but have said this for previous mods before they rebranded as GoE but never actually followed suit in doing that. They actually have current mods under the GoE rebrand that are complete yet force you to sub still. The mod also hardly even does any overhauling and is just a content dump, adding armors from previous games to even having bosses from previous games. Their original bosses aren't that great either, which most are either projectile vomit or burning your retinas with excessive effects, or just "previous souls boss but X theme" (the Helphen bosses have no unique attacks. they literally ported a cut boss and put a coat of ghostflame paint over it. the animations arent new and are reused from the cut boss that originally comes from Bloodborne.) Oh, and aside from this mod being uninspired and paywalled, they're also generally scummy and GoE's lead has done shady things before. Modding community generally just does not like this guy, and for good reason.

Fun fact: Garden of Eyes is a scam. You have to pay a subscription in order to get updates on a monthly basis, some of the content is stolen from other modders, and the rest are just asset rips from other souls games. There is nothing original, and since it's payed, it's illegal. Do not get GoE.

Borrow is quite an understatement when the "Creator" is literally taking credit for things he didn't do and also just payed others to do the work for him and the ones he did do work on, info and tutorials were spoonfed to him since he doesnt know how to do it yet he claims to found/learn it himself and that he taught it to someone when in fact that someone taught it to him. Not to mention the fact that paywall mods are literally against terms of service of 'monetizing Fromsoft's product with no permission' Even the word stealing, thief, and liar doesnt do it justice

This mod's getting a lot of hate because it's locked behind a paywall, and I feel like that's a bit of a deserved criticism. It's one thing to modify a game and have a patreon/donation option for people if they like the mod, but people can't even play this without shelling out $5/mo. Other mods like Convergence have more content, fit in the game's setting more, and have more polish while being completely free and thus attracting a WAY bigger fanbase than this is getting. From a profitability standpoint alone - there's a reason why WinRAR is free but suggests you pay. They earn 10x the profit by getting word of mouth out there and having people pay of their own volition instead of putting up a paywall and creating instant dislike.

As much as I'd want to try the mod, no thanks. Yeah it costs money which is total bs by mod standards, but so many of these weapons are very unpolished with their animations and MAAAN I can NOT handle how overdone the effects are! I'm going to use Convergence as a comparison. One of the weapons Convergence introduced in their mod is a one handed magic axe and it's ash of war is basically multiple bright blue ray slashes with a follow up (I'm pretty sure Snuggly has it in a video.) What I love about that AOW is that even though the effects are bright, it's NOT BLINDING. Or even worse, because of the amount of effects going on, it covers way too much of the surrounding area which could lead to many punishes to the player. So many of the Garden of Eyes weapons are way too blinding or have WAY too much going on too the point it's very uncomfortable to the eyes.

If forget about Garden's paywall, I want to say only one thing, all Elden Ring mods have bad sides, and all have good sides. About bad things, Garden, in my opinion, have too flashy, movesets of weapons and bosses, too many effects on them. I mean, I just don't like this mess of special effects. Conv better in terms of movesets for me. But, Conv have bad sides as well. Like, they're not really overhauling all boss weapons, some boss weapons stay untouched, some (Godrick's axe) remade, but wery bad (I mean, why not make it stance, with both, eartquake and wind ?), Conv devs even cutted completely deflects, didn't remaded it in talisman, just cutted it, and all As about good sides, Conv have really interesting new weapons, then Garden have interesting boss ideas, like remading Crucible Knights (I don't like his realisation of this idea, but remading Crucible Knights, Night Cavalry, etc. sounds really good)

Yes, these issues have been caused due to an older tool being used, and have been addressed alongside Margit's Cane and Gravity Ore Blade, and many others, and fixed in the latest patch. Thanks for noting :D
