Right out the gate, I like that this mod does something interesting with Mohg being the body Miquella's consort's soul is housed in: Radahn would have felt a lot less like a rehash if he had more than one goddamned Bloodflame attack and incorporated it more into his attacks like Malenia does here. Likewise, fighting Malenia as she should have been, without the Scarlet Rot eating away at her mind and body, is really satisfying and I like how it characterizes Miquella as well. Even after stripping himself of his love, compassion, and everything else that made him human, his genuine love for his twin and desire to rid her of the condition that ruined her life still persists in spite of everything else. And honestly, if they had to rehash a boss from the base game to serve as Miquella's consort, Malenia makes more sense due to having that strong connection with Miquella from the get-go. Whether or not you believe Radahn was a hasty replacement for a potential Godwyn revival, there's no denying that he was awkwardly shoehorned into Miquella's backstory.

Sadly the obsession Miquella has for Radahn and his perfect world of compassion canonically even surpassed his genuine love for his sister. He promised to return and cure her with his plan but ultimately like everything Miquella does.. he abandoned her at the base of his tree to either and rot away. Shame Malenia stayed loyal to her sibling and twin till her very death apologizing to him that she couldn’t fight for him any longer as she finally had met her match. Of course it’s a loosened in the plot as it’s implied you kill her off screen in her boss fight anyway and by this point Miquella is just another tally on your death count

This seems to be a genuely good fight, for a mod. Personally the huge contrast betweem the background and the flashy blood attacks makes my eyes sore a bit and some attacks seems to be barely readable because of this, but is fine. Idk if real Sekiro moveset combines very well though, she seems to chain combo over and over when even again not giving you a breath sometimes, Cell. A shame I can´t say how she is gameplay wise because I refuse to give a cent or install something related to this mod.

In the lore, it is massively different. Miquella and Marika are both based on the Rebis. The structure of the order is a female God, and her male King. And it isn't so much about their sex as it is the role they choose. Miquella has chosen the female role. If you play a female Tarnished, you can still choose the male role. But Malenia doesn't fit that criteria, being an Empyrean vessel herself. The difference here that breaks the lore isn't who he marries, it's about the role they keep.

the problem with malenia is not that she is his sister but the fact that she is an empyrean therefore a creature that can become a goddess directly and being cursed/blessed with the presence of the goddess of rot and being miquella unable to exorcise the goddess from the body and soul of his sister if he had used her as a receptacle for his ascension he would have thrown himself into the hands of the goddess probably giving life to a version of the ring in the hands of the goddess of rot and so well, his intent to drive away the gods and free the world would have been useless

There are several reasons. First, it's a paywalled mod, which is illegal and violating ToS. Second, it's just copying and pasting stuff from other FromSoftware games. Third, GoE is a complete PoS, and has been for over a decade. Almost certainly the worst part of the entire modding community, if not the Elden Ring community as a whole.

It got so bad that the seamless coop creators went on a hiatus for months because they were so demoralized by GOE's theft.

It also is more lore accurate as the twin's bond was already established in the base game and Radhan's connection came out of left field. I've heard the horror stories of the radhan boss fight. I'm about to do my own playthrough of the DLC, and all I can say, is that I'm glad this was not a thing. Melania broke me. She's still the only boss in the base game I couldn't beat clean without summons. With how broken she was in the base game, she would be the radhan fight on steroids . Great work by the person making the mod though.

Here is my vision of the final fight: it starts off as the Radahn fight, but once you defeat the second phase, a brief intermission of a wounded Miquella lies on the ground that you approach, where he then pulls out his "backup" plan where he infuses in the corpse of Malenia to be a whole being with Malenia, thus "returning" to Malenia, creating the crazy Malrnia, True consort of Miquella.

Let me make an addendum to that… At the end of the Malenia fight, Miqulla would revive Malenia to fight again AND summon the entire remainder of his personal forces for aid, only for Radahn to get back up as well in his first phase. From there you and the VERY MUCH free and enraged Radahn would fight together through Malenia and Miqulla’s forces and ultimately fight Miquella himself for dominance over The Lands Between.

The DLC lore is basically a twist to show Miquella was just as bad as the other demigods and his "infatuation" with Radahn made him want to be his consort regardless of radahn's feelings, all in the name of correcting Marika's mistakes by trying to become a better God than her. And tbh, I feel Fromsoft missed the mark hard here. I legit would have just found it more interesting and tragic that Miquella and Malenia were working together to become Gods to truly better the world, but the Tarnished won't let that happen because they want to be Elden Lord, and there's only one throne to sit on.

I don't know, it's really great, but it wasn't narratively satisfying to me (miquella wise, the Marika part was perfect)

The same DLC that introduces this character relationship that has no foreshadowing or hints at all in the base game just telling you the twist final boss in an easily fuck up-able NPC side quest doesn't properly build up PCR alone imo. Radahn is as much fanfiction as consort Malenia so lmao.
