Hello Lee!! You won't be disappointed! Great piece of kit lol :)

Top job as usual mate 👍🏻 it was me that recommended the speedskim btw haha. They really speed up the initial flattening stage compared to just toweling it up. I just throw my skim on with the trowel now, let it firm up slightly, quick speed skim over, let it firm a bit more then start polishing with the trowel. I find it ends up with an even flatter surface because of the longer blade 😁. Also not sure if you have issues in the hot weather in the garden rooms with the skim setting up too fast or too slow in the cooler weather but you can get additives for the skim that speed it up or retard it if you need a little extra time or vice versa. Come in little sachets you just mix into the water. I sometimes use the retarder in the really hot weather if theres a big wall or ceiling to skim up, works a treat 😀

Top Man!!!! Thanks so much for that! Found it so useful and defiantly saved time and got a better finish! And I had. no idea about the chemicals you can get!? I love getting this type of feedback! Lover learning new tricks. You a plasterer by any chance?!! ;D

Just one coat? Then goes back to fill shallows? 😅 Also do some diagonal skimming, otherwise it tends to follow bumps in the wall and exaggerate them. Refina skimmer 1m, £36 and longer.

Watcha Karl!! Cheers for that fella!! Will defiantly try going diagonal! I'm getting some great tips on plastering from you guys!! :)

Did you use an edge bead around the door/window apertures to the front wall? Maybe I missed that bit. If not, what’s you plan for those reveals?
@seancleary19853 жыл бұрын
Also forgot to say top job 👍🏻
@TheHomeRenovationExperts3 жыл бұрын
Cheers Sean!! Yes fella basically I shall use white plastic trim to finish around the small part of the reveal so it ties into the windows. :)

Not bad plastering for someone who doesn’t plaster much, to be a bit brutal , leave it to an experience plasterer. I wouldn’t pass that work on any of my sites👍🏻
@TheHomeRenovationExperts3 жыл бұрын
Watcha Patrick!! Cheers fella! ;) lol The good thing is that with my mad decorating skills I can make it look gorgeous at the end. The biggest problem I have is my plasterer is so busy all the time that its bloody difficult getting him pinned in for a date :D

Patrick vernall dont flatter urself pal.. ive been doing this for 14 years and sit work is the lowest of standards whsn it comes to spreads... dont worry the painter will get over it! No care or love goes into site work

Wtf .. pay the money and get a plasterer in,
@TheHomeRenovationExperts3 жыл бұрын
Hello Aaron!! I really would but trying to get my plasterer tied in to a date when I know ill be ready for plastering is near impossible. He's bloody brilliant but a busy lad. Plus if im stuck waiting for him I'd loose days on the builds that clients don't really like. But I totally take your point!! :)
