Get well soon Liz! Yes it does seem to be doing the rounds. Slow and steady. You can only do what you can do whilst you recover. I really appreciate the gardening stool hubby gave me Christmas. It is like a fishing stool but has poppers underneath to carry a bag, with handles. It can open up quite big and has pockets for tools. I like to put one of those tubs you buy with bird balls in and use it for weeding to keep the bags shape and i still have extra room around the tub for rubbish. Having a break to catch my breath or working on the raised beds really helps with my asthma. 4 weeks ago i asked my hubby to help with World Book day outfit and to decide with my child what character they wanted to be. I was busy planning the garden for the year, ordering seeds, sterilising soil, planting seed trays, getting my car through the MOT and other life stuff that was on a time constraint. It was also, so i had time to think of what outfit to make and what i needed, whilst we we away on school holidays. Why is it always last minute? Currently, in front of an ironing board making a Horrid Henry costume. They brought back a blue jumper last night from Tesco after not wanting any of the costumes. Luckily we have some yellow t shirt material but i really wish i knew how to use the sewing machine my Dad bought me so "Hem it", it is! lol. I can sew but that much would take too long. Taking breaks so my busted back doesn't have too much pressure. Last year i made a Dog Man outfit, so i hoped that i could do Captain Underpants this year.

I am so grateful for your words of encouragement that there is plenty of time to get things going in the garden in 2023 and to start doing a bit at a time. It is just the encouragement I need when feeling a bit overwhelmed after seeing the progress of online UK gardeners already when I haven't started on my veg plots for the year yet. Thank you very much. It has really reassured me.

It's one of the downsides of social media. Everyone is so keen to be the first to post their progress, but in reality it's still too early to sow many seeds unless you have a greenhouse or warm, light space to grow the young plants.

I hope you are feeling better Liz. I'm wondering if it's a very difficult task to replace some of the corrugated roof panels on the duck enclosure with transparent corrugated roof panels? They could get a bit more natural light that way. Just a thought. Thanks for another great video.

I haven't even started my peppers and tomatoes yet. We are due another sub-zero couple of days next week though, but at least the days are longer for germinating now. It's all looking good your end and it is hard not to overdo things when you feel better than you were - but not totally fit! xxx

Appreciate it takes time to make a garden, and yours is looking great. Last year I was caught out by the late frosts, because I was impatient, so all I have in the ground are spring bulbs. I’m starting my seeds indoors this month, and planning on last frost late May. I’m growing more flowers this year, so I can sit in my tiny garden and drink wine!

The sheep are so happy to see you out & about again! Is there any way you could put up a netted enclosure outside for the ducks to have a small exercise yard? Maybe something like the hoops with netting that you put over the garden beds, just attached to a small doorway out of the barn for the ducks to use? Have you tried drinking ginger tea or fennel tea for your respiratory system? I know, they aren't really "tea", but they will strengthen your respiratory system.

This winter has been really bad for viruses. I've had two since December, and my 3 year old is still coughing. I had breathing problems after the one at Christmas and wheezed and struggled to do anything (even talk) without gasping. You can't do anything else except rest and look after yourself, Liz. I only just got my chillies sown - everything is about a month behind. But I'm slowly catching up. Like you said, plenty of time. And it's turning out to be quite a chilly week, so I feel like going back into hibernation. Congrats on the new book! xx
