Continuing our theme on garden wildlife photography in the UK during the Coronavirus lockdown, we spend the first days in our homemade hide photographing the birds.
The birds are coming and there are plenty of opportunities for photography with some good weather and great light. Initial visitors include, Wood Pigeon, Goldfinch, Starling, Dunnock, House Sparrow, Blackbird and Collared Dove.
Some great fun photographing the UK garden bird wildlife.

Thanks Ian. I am surprised how you can get some decent images from an environment we tend to take for granted. Good luck with your experiments and stay safe... Cheers Keith

Hi Keith nice little video your set up seems to be bearing fruit already, you got some really good shots and it just goes to show what can be achieved in a simple garden set up. Until next time take care and stay safe my friend.

Thanks Richard. Goldfinches are great birds so colourful but I do sometimes find them hard to photograph. I think it is because of the contrast in colours in the plumage. Thanks for watching mate... Cheers, Keith

@KG's Photography No worries Keith, your right there, sometimes blow some of the highlights but I add a bit of exposure compensation in hope to counteract that:-) All the best Richard

One of my favorite things in summer is when I decide to have a lie down in the sun, close to the house and lay quietly and the birds come around and don't notice me. They bathe and feed around the lawn. It's so perfect!!! I happen to be a BIG fan of backyard bird watching as it is what I get to do most of the time. I get Robins, Cardinals, blue jays, Grackles, Mourning Doves, Magpies, Northern Flickers, Brown Thrushes and some others, in the very early Spring - Junco, Chickadees. I've had as many as 15 Starlings bathing at once! What a treat to watch! Now what you are calling a Goldfinch is very different from what we get here in the MidAtlantic USA. Our Goldfinches to do not have red faces. They are only yellow and black. Thanks for continuing to make content through the isolation times. I love it!!!

Wow thanks Maggie really appreciate your support. I always find it interesting how birds with the same names can look so different on different continents. Sounds like you have many species visit you in the garden that must be wonderful to see. Thanks for continuing to watch and support my channel. Cheers, Keith.

Nice shots, I live in a very rural location and doing a similar thing. I have a tree stump that I've hollowed out on the top, filled with seed and set up about 10 meters away. Highlights have been blackcap taking insects and long tailed tits. It's a great idea at this difficult time. Looking forward to your next upload. Stay safe

Thanks Brian. It would be nice to have a more rural location but we have to make do with what we have. It seems to be working quite well with a variety of species up to now. Thanks for watching and stay safe. Cheers Keith

Excellent video Keith, I really enjoyed it. I'm going through much the same here tweaking the garden 'studio'. I loved the starlings having a dip - they do fling that water about. Thanks for sharing, great vid.

Thanks Justin. The Starlings are very entertaining but can steal all the food before the others get a look in. Tried putting out some mealworms for the Robin but can't keep them away from the Starlings. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Keith
