I think your pink/burgundy hydrangea would be nice behind the bench. It would make the bench feel cozy, the color would look great to balance the heuchera, also, there is good outdoor spray paints if you wanted to make those pots tropical colors. I love the path to the bench. Great idea. Maybe get some hummingbird feeders to sit on the bench and watch them. Happy Spring.

Just a thought.... I think bringing the grass all the way into the pathway would be a good solution for fixing the off center-stepping stone problem. Additionally, if the kids have access, they won't get muddy using the path. I just see the dirt path as license to roll in mud. :)
@GardenAddictz2 жыл бұрын
Hi, it will be mulched heavily, since it’s going to be used by the kids. I purposely left the plants out the pathway because I don’t want them to trample the plants by accidents.
@altheab.89072 жыл бұрын
Great idea, Moya. Looks much better with the pathway. If I may make a suggestion….put 25 year weed block under the bench coming down the pathway and under the stones on the side before you mulch……no weeds between the stone, in the pathway or under the bench. I would do a circle under the bench to set it apart. That said, my vision may not be in line with your vision. It’s going to beautiful whatever you do, I’m sure.
@annakasikkink48422 жыл бұрын
I think you totally made the right choice with the bobo's and planting them in the ground. You already have a vertical element with the oblisks, so I think it will be more calming to have them in ground. And beautiful with those heucheras! Good bones--shrubs and structural elements--make a garden look purposeful even when it's a little wild. Can't wait to see the evolution of this space.

I am loving the path to the bench! It is looking so cute! If i could change 2 things, I would get a more organic shape for the stepping stones, and get bright vibrant planters for the bobo's. The area looked great with the planters, the height difference of them really added to the area. But definitely the wrong type of planters. also, the comment about hearing a shooting made me spit my drink out. that was hilarious!
@Juancantor762 жыл бұрын
Fantastic video, Moya! On the pots, have you ever thought about given them and instant "aged" look or patina by taking some white paint, water and baking soda, and using this mixture to lightly apply some of it to the pots and then removing most of it with a rag? It really makes the terracotta look aged. you might even use a big of green paint, water and baking soda to give it the appearance of moss growing on it. I've tried this and really looks wonderful. Just a thought. Thanks again for allowing us to join you in your gardening journey and learn as we go, as well as get inspired! BRAVA!

Absolutely agree with the change...the path leading up to the bench makes this area so much more inviting now. Love your plant choice, too. Suggestion: looks a little stiff where the rocks begin at the path entrance. If you create a softer curve there, instead of a squared-off corner, it will make the area look more welcoming. Your hard work is really paying off. Between the background trees you and your friend planted, the obelisks you and your husband built, the inviting bench to sit and enjoy your beautiful garden, the perfect plantings, this is really a garden to treasure! Hope you continue to make more videos and bring all of us wishful thinkers along on your wonderful journey. 💜💜
