My Husband just entered into the hospice care this week and I have felt a deep sadness, we have been married in Feb. 44 years. Watching this morning's video, you build two beautiful arrangements, the kids playing in the background, the geese flying overhead, and just feeling the love from what you do Laura, was such a peaceful feeling and God telling me, "Everything will be ok Kimberly",❤🙏

Love watching your videos Laura. Watching you pull the peddles off that rose reminded me of my wife several years ago. She talked to our local grocery store and arranged to pick up all the flowers that were expired and were ready to be thrown into the dumpster. Some weeks there were only a few, but other weeks there would be two heaping grocery carts full. All the flowers were loaded into our car and off to the nursing homes she would go. She would take the flowers inside on a large table and begin pulling all the spent leaves and outer flower peddles off and make fresh flower arrangements for every person's room. Then if there were flowers left over she had several older, sometimes widowed ladies she knew from church and would stop by their homes, visit for awhile and make them a fresh arrangement. It was a real ministry that she enjoyed for several years. I never knew when to expect her to come home, but knew she was bringing joy into many lives. Fresh flowers always bring smiles of joy. Jim

How very sweet and caring of your wife to do that. She knew those people would enjoy the flowers so much and put a smile on there face. We need more people like your wife in this world. 🥰

Hey Laura, I'm a Laura too! Just watched you enjoying the feel of sun on your face today - there's an actual word for that lovely feeling - APRICITY: the comforting warmth of the sun on your skin during winter, comes from the Latin word apicari which means to back in the sun 🌞

Laura, you should absolutely make 52 arrangements this year and take us along for the ride! I’d like to have a new one each week - and it’s easy in the summer when everything is blooming! - not so much during the doldrums of winter once the holidays have passed!

Sometimes I just want to follow your kids around and try to think like they think and do what they do! Imagination is a magical, glorious life-affirming force! I love yours, too, that you express through the simple but stunning flower arrangements. Thanks for bringing us along for such a happy day. And sweet Douglas! He loves being with you!

This was very beautiful. From the lovely flowers to seeing Douglas and the kids enjoying their lives. My favorite of the two arrangements is the Delphiniums and white roses. It gave me a flashback memory to my daughter’s wedding. I did all her flowers myself and it was all in blue delphiniums and white roses. I got the roses, special order through Costco ( hundreds of huge white roses plus greens for around $200), and was able to find dozens of potted delphiniums which I cut some of the flowers for arrangements and bouquets and some pots were used for room decor, then planted out in the yard after. All the vases and containers came from Goodwill. I was pretty proud of the whole thing - not to mention the money we saved.

I love seeing your kid's excitement when they heard the geese coming! Reminds me of this quote from Aldo Leopold in his book A Sand County Almanac. "A March morning is only as drab as he who walks in it without a glance skyward, ear cocked for geese."

Hi, Laura: The arrangements are beautiful! You do such a nice job creating them. I wanted to suggest for a future video, to have your Mom do a tutorial on how to create an arrangement. I know she has said that she was a florist. It would be helpful to so many to see how she selects the flowers with the vase she has in mind and have her explain step by step the process of creating an arrangement for us. It would be so interesting for those of us who are new to flower arranging and would benefit from a basic tutorial. Thanks!

Beautiful arrangements! The kids watching the geese are so cute. We live on the Illinois prairie and our house is under a migratory flight path for the geese. They even land in our fields around the house to eat up the left over corn. I have often said to myself when hanging laundry on the line, "I will be really mad if those geese start pooping." When you asked the kids that I had to laugh.

Watching them spot the geese brought back childhood memories for me. My Mom taught myself and my brother the following rhyme when we would be outside and spot birds flying over us.
