I have my Aerogarden on my nightstand. The light is off at night, but I love to hear the sound of the water circulating. The light comes on at 5AM and easily wakens me. I have a 62 days old Lemon Starrburst in it. Your pruning videos were very helpful for keeping the plant under control. More Aerogarden updates would be good.

I also keep my Aerogardens in my bedroom! It is a very effective silent alarm clock, and on dark winter mornings helps me get up sooner.
@Tyj20005 жыл бұрын
That's a really good idea to use it as an "alarm clock" and a white noise machine. I've been thinking about getting one, and with this idea, even moreso. Thanks!

If you start seedlings in the AeroGarden, how big do you let it get before you transfer to soil? And when you transfer it do you leave it in the rockwool or try to get it out?
@PepperWolverine6 жыл бұрын
I have several Aerogardens that I use 2 different grow decks on. If I am using the supplied grow deck for the bounty models I have with 9 grow sites I let them get to about the 6th to 8th set of leaves(typically around the 45-60 day mark) and then transfer. They can go longer but untangling the roots becomes a hassle. It is manageable but a hassle and can set back the plants a little from too much stress. I also use the seed starting deck accessory which holds 50 starts. For this accessory I do not let them go past 3-4 sets of leaves before transplanting. I have never seen a reason for removing either the sponges that I use or rockwool as reusing them is not possible.
@KhangStarr6 жыл бұрын
Jeff has a great point. You can transfer at any stage, but the larger they get, the more roots they put out. Transferring a large plant can take alot of work and lots of roots damage.

Ok the links to the nutrients are not shipping to mu country. I can not find those brands in my country. In fact Aero system is quite unknown here. Can I use liquid garden nutrients? Like Pokon. If so must it have special requirements? What are those 3 numbers meaning on your brands (Dyna 7-9-5 3-12-6 and Aerogrow 4-3-6) Thanks.

Can you tell us more about the nutrients you use in the aerogarden? I myself use general hydroponics, would like to know your ratio’s though
@KhangStarr6 жыл бұрын
For my AG, I use Dyna Gro + Dyna Bloom series, they're much easier to mix. During vegetative stage, 5 ml per gallon of water. You can use this only for the entire lifetime of your pepper, or you can switch to Bloom when the plant is fruiting. It will also be 5 ml per gallon.

The only reasons we like the aero garden are one, because it comes with a timer and no need to figure out how to hang them, and the other lights you use aren’t easy to buy. They aren’t sold on amazon and their web site and KZbin channel, isn’t so buyer friendly. It’s a bit confusing and time consuming. Please relay this comment because I for one really wanted to order them, and visited their KZbin channel and website prior to reverting to looking at the aero garden. The aero garden water system isn’t what we want, we all much prefer your various repurposed hydro container ideas

I'm having a serious problem with my aerogarden. One month after germination, my peppers & tomatoes start turning yellow. By six weeks they are brown and dead by seven weeks! This has been going on for years and now the company refuses to send me more pods! They told me to use distilled water, I did and the results remain the same. What am I doing wrong? What makes a healthy plant turn yellow? Please, I'm praying for any help I can get!
@KhangStarr6 жыл бұрын
What nutrients are you using? Do you check pH? How much liquid do you have in the unit and is the pump running?
@bettyspencer31206 жыл бұрын
@@KhangStarr Thanks for replying. Over the past 4 yrs I have used the AG nutrients, general hydroponic nutrients trio, compost tea & currently I'm using master blend. In both my gardens, I use pumps for 20 & 40 gallon fish tanks. I did notice that the AG pods grow enough algae to turn the water green and the Rockwood turns white on the top and forms tiny specks in the water! I always keep the Ph at 5.7 and I fill the tank to the recommended level.

@@bettyspencer3120 does it happen with other seeds? I noticed that the initial pods that came with the aerogarden and the nutrients that came with it, they turned slimy green, I just switched to a different brand seeds and it's fine now. I accidentally put in swiss chard seeds now I've got that growing, it's getting insanely tall. Did you raise the lights? And did you cover the other holes so light isn't getting in? Maybe you are putting too much nutrients in? What happens if you just use regular seeds and their nutrients?
