A POST TO BE PRESERVED FOREVER. HIGHLY IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR TGE GARDEN LOVERS. All of us face such a situation frequently, can't think of and can't do anything but to see the plant die. At the most either we apply fungicide solution or Hydrogen Peroxide to the roots or overwater them. But the main problem of undernourished root rot stricken roots renains unattended. Thanks for this nice video. I had tried my hands with Hybrid Hibiscus (purchased from Kolkata Nurseries), but so far success rate is not so good. Plants looks healthy when received, but later on die. I will try your way & see. Nice to Double petal Orange flowers from a almost dead plant in 2-3 months time

Thanks for the video. Strangely both my hibiscus plants have gone this route-- gradually shed leaves, dried up and died. I'm sure it wasn't over-watering. The occasional mealybugs/scale insects were controlled with regular neem spray. And yet this happened. I didn't re-pot though. Any idea why this happens? Disease? Nematodes?

You are most welcome and thank you for watching! Usually this happens with most of the plants if they are in the same pot for much longer time. That is why, I try to repot every year in Spring or at least once in 1.5-2 years. Even if we apply fertilizers on regular basis, they don't like to keep growing in the same soil (soil chemistry get damaged). I would try to do a detailed video about it. Whereas if we have plants in ground directly, they can grow freely and this doesn't happen if they don't have other competitor plants nearby it. I have seen that, only Bougainvilleas keep growing happily even if we don't repot them frequently. 4-6 times fertilizers once in a year and they keep doing well. Please note, I am not referring to any indoor plants here or plants that grows under indirect sunlight. For all such plants, frequent repotting not needed (depends on plants though). I have few Syngonium plants which I repotted almost 3 years ago. Still in the same pot and doing well. Same goes to Money plant, Monstera, Philodendron etc. In case you don't want to repot, it's fine. You can remove some soil from the top and add fresh potting soil mix. This time I did the same with my Roses as there was not enough soil. They are doing very good..I hope, I have answered your question. If you still have any questions, please feel free to ask me. Jata type growth..it's because of small mistake in pruning. You should have cut the main branch itself. For example, please take a look at 1.19. I pruned the main branch and removed all other small small branches that was from upper part. Kept only one side branch. Honestly saying, I have never tried for Multi-petal Hibiscus :-) Please note - not all Multi-petal Hibiscus varieties have Stigma (incomplete flower). Some may have and we would need to look in the center..

Rock phosphate takes years to break down. Bone meal takes 1 to 4 months to break down. So bone meal, in my opinion, is not a substitute for rock phosphate. Kindly correct me if I am wrong.

Technically you are correct...but I have used Rock Phosphate from Amazon. I got desired result though..Actually, most of the soil usually contains enough % of P. And, since I always provide Mustard cake powder along with any other P, my plants usually don't disappoint me. Thank you for watching!
