What a perfectly wonderful, INFORMATIVE video. So much useful information for ALL gardens. Thanks for your comprehensive coverage of the plants, it is easy to see where any of these could be used in my garden. (Double gardenias are #1 in my book too.)

Good Morning Jenny, beautiful shrubs…you were speaking my language 😂😂… just minutes before I started watching this video 2 momma deer strolled through my front yard. They like everything if it’s in my garden! 🥹❤❤

Wow, Jenny, Gardina, I love their fragrance. I'm in Washington state zone 8b. I didn't think we could grow them because of our cold winters. Now I'm going to have to give Pillow Talk a try. I love the beaty in that shrub. Then I can have that fragrance. Lol I planted a couple of variegated Tea Olives, now too. Thanks for sharing so much with us. I just love learning so much about plants. I didn't think we could grow here.❤

Gorgeous shrubs. We have many of these varieties in our z8a sandy soil garden/landscape. They do fantastic in our less moist, leaner nutrient soil. We've limbed up 3 large loropetalums in a clump to become "trees" in a far corner of our backyard. Makes a beautiful backdrop year round. No maintenance 😊 Great video, Jenny! 🥰

I have Florida Sunshine in my backyard, four of them, in about four hours of Virginia sun. Does not drop leaves and most important for where we live, the deer don’t touch it. Requires some water in drought conditions but is otherwise self sufficient. Great plant.

My 13 year old son was laughing because I knew exactly what shrub you were going to talk about next when you said it was your favorite flower… Gardenia. We have some beautiful ones at church and I stop to smell them every time I walk by 💜

Hi, I once bought a Loropetalum, because they are so beautiful, but mine just died. The edges of the leaves went brown and crispy and then fell off. When I did a bit of reading up on the plant, I did not know that they like acidic soil. We do not have acidic soil, so how do you keep the soil acidic for years to come for such an acidic loving plant? Or should I just add a bag full of acidic soil to the plant when I plant it. I am really scared to buy another Loropetalum, scared of the next one dying as well. When a plant does not work for me in the garden, I do not buy one again, but these plants are so beautiful with their dark leaves. It's just gorgeous. Thank you for these informative videos, even when we live on opposite sides of the world, gardening brings all the plant lovers together. Lots of love from a sunny South Africa, going into summer! 😀👏❤

That gardenia! I would loove to have one or two, well… or several in my garden! Anyway, I have to wait until I have my heated green house 😬 But then Jenny I will buy them 👌 And sit inside my green house and glisten along with you! 🫣😂 Every time you talk about plants I find plants I did not know could survive my colder climate 🙏 Thank You and lots of love from Sweden 🇸🇪

Jenny, We just moved to a new home near Greenville, South Carolina. The soil is terrible. It is red clay that is so hard and compacted. To top that situation off there’s a lot of rocks. Some of the rocks are quite large. Hubby tried our auger but ended up getting a pick. Just wondering what you would recommend to amend this soil? The builder started the outer beds and planted some pine trees, sedum and small shrubs. Any advice would be so helpful.

My house faces dead west. Full, hot sun but only for 4 hours a day. No idea what evergreen shrub we could use. We used to have red tips but all of the ones in our area have died out.
