The marigolds are beautiful. I don’t see them as large in my zone unless I go to a nursery to purchase them. When you were handling the trees I thought about myself, lol…sometimes when u don’t have hands available you just make it work by any means necessary😂

Northern Michigan, zone 6, I go from summer annuals to nothing ….. my Bubblegum Supertunias still look good, I’ll pull them next week as there’s sNOw in the forecast! I prefer to enjoy the annuals right up to the last minute, rather than planting fall containers for only a few weeks of fall color.

Ornamental kale/cabbage can withstand a pretty cold winter and pansies hold out pretty well too along with ivy as a spiller in a container. I'm a zone 6 as well

I agree with you 100% I plant up until the last drop that I can for sure!!! Supertunias can tolerate more cool than we give them credit for!!! Snow will be a beautiful sight to see!!

I never thought about using the Marigold plants intentionally for the fall season. The colors definitely look great when the season begins to change and the annuals start to die out. Your planters are gorgeous.

Juneau, Alaska, zone 6b. The containers I plant in late spring/early summer take me all through summer until September when the rains and colder temps come. We finally got our first freeze. It's been in the low to mid 20's the past three days. This planting containers for the three seasons is so foreign to me. 😂

I totally get it!! In order for you to put out Fall containers you would be pulling Flowers that look great! To enjoy those plants earlier!!! I feel the same way when I read the comment from viewers that are in from the south!

I love those marigolds. I used them a lot this year since they’re budget friendly. I didn’t know you could overwinter dusty miller. I’ve got some in a container with my blue point junipers and they look amazing together. We have bi-polar weather too. But quite a bit warmer. Will be interesting to see how long the marigolds and dusty miller lasts.

Marigold will be with the frost!!! The dusty Miller can over winter and are hardy USDA 7-10 they get huge though!!

I would suggest the local nurseries! Somethings I grow from seed! Etc I have a minni personal nursery so I always have plants!
