Okay 17:24 or around there where he’s discussing the dew point being 53 to 54 and dry bulb temp being 68. I found a conversion chart and feel free to check the math, as I haven’t, but that is the same as saying to keep the temperature around 68 and RH at 60. Because if the temp is at 68 and the RH is at 60, the dew point defaults to around the spot he is talking. Now, I’m no Scientologist or nothing, but I’d say most basements hover between 60-65 degrees. But if one were to put a tent, a humidifier, temperature control, and hang plant matter in it, set to the above settings, you’d save 1600 dollars.

@@joshua2833 its not a magic thing, if you look what they are doing, its a peltier cooler and dehumidifier, which is controlled by PID. They've got much bigger industrial grade systems btw, which control the whole room and you put your weed on racks. That's the same technology. I am not sure though what they really had to patent because the technology is not new, I mean its obvious how it works and it is just some physics... It doesn't work well with tent and dehumidifier controlled by a smart plug because these systems oscillate a lot, they are not precise. But you could take a wine cooler or a fridge, remove the compressor and build your own circuit with it so that you dehumidify the air in the chamber and control it with a humidity/temperatur sensor and a Raspberry running a script. Its not like totally easy to do but if youre know what youre doing its fine.

Put the balance of the flower in the box and set to dry for 2 days. First day no sponge, add the sponge on day two of dry. One all over a done I move everything back into the box in paper bags. In reality you almost need two of these. One to dry and cure and one for storage. But for 1700 bucks who can do that! Not this MF. Thank you so much for this insightful interview! It really opened my eyes to how the drying process works. In the past, I always had drying runs that were way too cold and lasted way too long, resulting in totally terpless results. Now I understand that the randomly set dew point was a big issue. I used to think that drying as slowly as possible was the best approach, but I've learned that too slow can actually harm the terps, as microbes can take over. I only considered botrytis as a threat during harvest, but there’s so much more to it. Thanks for sharing this valuable information!

Hello, I enjoy your videos. I'm from MN and last August 1st I jumped on growing my own and I am training myself for a home grow service for medical patients. I've got 4 plants in AC ♾️ veg tent and 4 in AC ♾️ flower tent and a AC ♾️ dry tent for initial dry until it will fit in my Cure Cube. Last fall, I just about bought a Cannatrol for the long-term storage. I gambled and made my own. I used a mini fridge and have a fan, dehumidifier, and humidifier inside and it's controlled with an AC Infinity 69 controller. The fan and dehumidifier run full-time, while this slowly raises temp inside till 68 degrees and the fridge kicks on. By the time it gets to 69 degrees temp is on way down and shuts back off at 67.9 degrees which falls another degree. This tanks humidity inside, so I have a humidifier set to 60% humidity. Humidity ranges from 59% to 63 %. This cycle is 3 times an hour. I bought a push sensor to measure the dew point. It's been running since the end of November and has kept it at 68 degrees, 61% humidity and 54% Dewpoint verified by push sensor. I just put a plant in wet last Tuesday, and it was smokeable after 4 also. Today, at day 7, it smokes beautifully. At 1st, I thought it screwed up my weed because it doesn't smell, just a slight smell of grass. Then I figured out it was because it's at equilibrium. It wasn't easy at all, and I spent $725 putting it together, but it work's and is my centerpiece of my AC ♾️ grow. No jars. I'm working on filling it with different seed sample previews to showcase my homegrow services and selection of seeds. I will also be joining the KZbin homegrow community and filming my grows. I've got 5 grows in and maybe start filming the 6th or 7th. Loading the bases on my "MN Infinity Grow". 8 different strains at the same time have been challenging, but I'm getting there. Last year, this time, I wouldn't have guessed I'd be growing ganja in MN, but here I am with a full 8 plant grow in my living room. An abundance I only dreamed of. Thanks for your videos.

I have a Cannatrol, and have cured several cultivars. I do love my Cannatrol, but I take issue with his “great smoke in 8 days”. It’s more like hay in 8 days, BUT as it cures is when it gets “great”. Also, when you take it straight out of the Cannatrol, even after curing, it has a little hay smell to it. HOWEVER, if you keep it in a sealed container after the cure, that dank smell returns as the buds continue to off-gas.
@DrewsMNInfinityGrow8 ай бұрын
How much are you putting in there? 1 Kilo wet bud is max, 2.2 lbs. That dries out to about 7 ounces dry. Sounds like you are over filling it and getting hay.

Just get a humidor that is made for storing cigars! These are available for a lot cheaper and it controls both humidity and temperature within the recommended range!

Wish you would have talked more about dew point . I’m not a meteorologist or a HVac person . So what is ? How do you calculate it , and more importantly how to you control it . Figure if I can figure out what few point is and how it works I would be able to control or manipulate it . Last grow two 22 days to dry and that was at 60-60 burns like shit

Great episode Chris. I’m planning on getting one for my upcoming sun grown harvest. Taking the top buds off and the rest will go to my first attempt at fresh frozen.

VPD = SVP - AVP, whether you are adjusting for canopy temp or not. As such, it can be a useful measure for rate of drying. For instance, increased VPD imposes higher atmospheric demand on land evaporation in the warming climate.

Experiments are fun !!!! try this one Mr. grow it @ put a flower in a compressed chamber and see what happens to the tricones.??Does it pump them back into the flower?😂❤❤❤❤❤ the vacuum pressure on the tent seems to be disrupting my tricones. Maybe I should force the air in instead of sucking it out things to learn.🎉

I'm thinking about getting 1, do you recommend to trim the herb before it goes in to dry or does it not really matter

You’re gonna wanna wet trim so you can fit more in. It doesn’t hold much.

Great talk! love the insight on dewpoint and can't wait to try use it on my upcoming harvest. govee sensors now have a dew point function which i going to add to my tent to monitor for it. Sure it won't be as automated yet. and i love to see ac infinity add dewpoint to the controller 69

If you already control the temps you CAN control RH. if you even KNOW they temperature you can control the relative humidity.
@MrMCKlebeband29 күн бұрын
for people confused with dew point... there is calculators, 68F at 54 dew point means 68F and 61RH
@jasonsu214814 күн бұрын
@@MrMCKlebeband yes. I think they use dew point to make it sound more professional. You can get an electric cigar humidor that controls temperature and humidity for 1/5 of the price. Using dew point is actually just relative humidity at a certain temperature. But once you set the temperature there is no point to set dew point. Once you set a temperature just set the humidity is fine.
@MrMCKlebeband14 күн бұрын
@@jasonsu2148 cigar humidor sounds nice for storage, for drying i just use a tent or a room or whatever mostly enclosed space, a fan a dessican dehydrator and a wet towel.... and just freestyle it to 60... frankly, this right now is the first batch of weed i produced with no hay smell at all but now that i know how, it is so simple.

I'm 6 days away from making another Cannatrol Cool Cure harvest video for my channel. I'm asked all the time what settings I use, the default settings are perfect for 2 pounds of wet flower, I've yet to find a need to change anything. I'm a retired commercial owner/grower, having a Cannatrol is very much like having a mini automated commercial dry room at the house, and when it's not running a dry/cure cycle it holds all of my flower, rosin, pollen, bubble hash, and mushroom cultures at the perfect temp and humidity for long term storage. Highly recommended 😊👍 Hey Vermont growers ... seeking Mother Of Berries & Strawberry Fields, anyone out there who has saved seeds please reach out.

Chris once again great video and informative. Also thank you David S. for the invention! It is nice to know their is white papers debunking the old school 60f/60%RH process as it helps everyone be more successful. So my Sensor Push tracks DewPoint unfortunately ACI control panels do not. For those maybe saving up for the Cannatrol and still drying in tents where variables could be controled should we now recommend tracking 54% dewpoint with 68f to create the equilibrium cure effect? I looked back on my history of the SensorPush data and it has been pretty solid @ 54/55% dewpoint. It is amazing the amount of new information for drying and curing. ✌️
