Mine was bent as well, but it's was easy too straighten it out, by using your hands and a little force, no problem.

Thanks Lan! You got me interested in the Gardyn for a few months now and I finally bit the bullet with the help of your code. 8 days in now and seeing some healthy sprouts! Excited to continue the journey. Will be hoping to use your channel to help me along as I figure out how to trim and harvest and all that good stuff...

Thank you, Lan, for these videos. I am still contemplating buying one after watching tens of hours of reviews. I worry that it will be hours of work each week to maintain.
@plant4table3 жыл бұрын
The first 4 weeks, you don't need to do anything. As your plants mature, what you do every week/day is harvesting your goodies. Top off the water every week/every other week and add plant food. That should take you literally less than 5 minutes. The biggest maintenance is the cleaning every 6 months. There is work to be done for the system to be a clean and healthy home for the plants, I would be lying if I say there is 0 maintenance. However, comparing to the outdoor gardening, the work is significantly less.

Just like Lan said, the first 4 weeks, after that you'll get a message from gardyn to what needs to be done ✔, I love my gardyn and I just start a new ones for the new years. Past five months I harvest my own lettuces right from my kitchen. It's was worth it for me because I work overnight and do 60 to 75 hours a week, so, if want a bowl of salad 🥗 or something like sandwich 🥪 my gardyn provides me the greens 🤔 yes the greens 😆...

Thank you so much for your video. I have been watching your videos for a while "subscribed today". I also used your coupon code today to order my Gardyn 2.0! You inspired me.. I was really torn between the iHarvest and the Gardyn system. I think with the sale price and being a new version and also the coupon code its worth it. The one thing that scare me was the cleaning of the system however with Gardyn saying that they improved this I am hoping this is true!

I am going to try to soak the columns and cups in water and vinegar. It should make the cleaning much easier. I wouldn't worry too much about the cleaning part.

Thank you so much! Looking forward to more. I'm sure the website has differences between v1.0 and v2.0, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on what stands out vs what is not noticeable since you are very familiar with the 1.0
@plant4table3 жыл бұрын
It seems to be the same from the outside. However, I noticed it was much easier to connect the columns to the wooden panel piece. I am sure they streamlined the inside of the columns so that they are easier to be cleaned. I will take a closer look and compare to the 1.0 version.

@@plant4table Yea - I'm really not seeing much difference. IMO the important part - the lights are the same but I really don't see any change to the inside of the tubes that makes me want to spend the extra money?
@karrotlover3 жыл бұрын
Is there a noticeable difference between v1 and v2? I didn’t get a Gardyn because cleaning looked too difficult. The website says the new one should be easier to clean, but does it seem that way to you?

Would LECA clay pebbles work instead of rockwool, or would the water slosh out? I saw videos of a man just placing seeds on top of the pre-soaked leca in kratky baskets, allowed water to cover a lot of the kratky basket until the plants sprouted, and they seed sprouted quickly.
@plant4table2 жыл бұрын
I think clay pebbles can be a great alternative if the plants have some roots. You can sprout the seeds on paper towels and then transplanted it using clay pebbles after the seeds sprouted. I am not sure about sowing seeds directly onto the clay pebbles. Also, I hate washing clay pebbles after each use.
@sn2323 жыл бұрын
Why do you think this is better than the first version?
@plant4table3 жыл бұрын
The 2.0 seems to be easier to install, or may be it was just my imagination. I dont know whether it is much easier to clean or not until it is time to clean. I am sure they redesigned the inner of the columns and tubes for the cleaning purposes.
@karunald2 жыл бұрын
@@plant4table Well, you put it together so did you notice any difference in the insides? It seems the same from watching videos - same tube piece length, cord inside, etc.

interesting concept for a hobby but is it practical. would not seem to make much sense to grow lettuce for food if you can get it at less expense at the farmers market.. have you ever crunched the numbers?
@plant4table3 жыл бұрын
It is unrealistic to expect 1 Gardyn to replace your grocery run. However, it will provide you a good supplement for your need of lettuces, mixed greens and herbs. With the lettuce recalls due to contaminants, I don't trust the stuff in the grocery stores, especially the uncooked items. And we all know how expensive fresh herbs can be while the shelf life is short. Before I had my hydroponic systems, I had to buy a whole head of lettuce when I only needed 2 leaves for my burger. So much food waste. Nowadays, I just need to harvest whatever I need for my meals and it can't get any fresher than this. I also did my numbers and I think it worths it in the long run, considering I don't pay for the monthly subscription. I will definitely break down the numbers in my next video.

@plant4table3 жыл бұрын
My apologies, I meant the Gardyn 1.0 for under $600, not the 2.0 :( They are basically the same. The only difference is that Gardyn updated the inside of the columns so that it is easier to be cleaned. I am not sure how much easier, will find out when it is time.

Lol, my profession has nothing to do with gardening nor gardening equipments. When you love something enough, you will make a budget for it 🤣. At least these systems cost less than therapy sessions.
