Garibaldi - the English biscuit developed to honour the Italian hero

The pastry is shortcrust, and the glaze is whipped chickpea cooking water. These biscuits are known as squashed flies. Garibaldi went to England to seek funding, and got a biscuit dedicated to him. Very few Italians know of this biscuit, even though almost every Italian town has a road named after him.
The biscuits need to be cooked so the top and bottom are the same, and the raisins don't fall out the middle.
