Like that 1967 antique VW Safari Bus with swing out split windshield (it last year for this feature) and 8 skylights on the roof. Some VW owners do install the pre-1940 sealed beam headlights to customized their vehicles, also its last year, since 1968 VW Buses, and Westfalia campers are totally restyled. By the way, the 1967 VW bus is European style because the blade bumpers without the over riders and vertical bars are removed.

But, I had to go pickup grandkids after school and it was about 3 hours before I got back and sat right down to watch it. Love cars you don't see everyday and love original unadulterated body lines....especially with all the original stainless and chrome. That 54 Chevy is a great work of art in idea, design and execution. I have never been a fan of pinstriping but the artist who did this car nailed a beautiful design.Great color choice for both the stripes and the car. I would like to see this car featured in a magazine and also know the name of the pinstriper. Really impressed with that car. Leaving all the chrome and emblems gets an A+ in my book.

That Turnpike Cruiser! !I Oh how I wish designers were allowed to use their imagination designing cars today, and not designing to a committee. I know the safety regulations are a serious hurdle, but take the Alfa Romeo 4C for example. Its gorgeous! The Italians put their passion into their cars. Americans used to, but now are cut off by the bean counters. I just really want to want an American car! I do want hundreds, but nothing made lately. Scratch that, the new 2020 Corvette is marvelous! It's the first Corvette I have wanted, other than classic ones in my lifetime. That project is a great one for other companies to get inspired by.

The JATO thrust engine on the Mercury Turnpike Cruiser is a reference to “Jet Assisted Take Off”. Propeller driven military planes of that era mounted jet engines on the wings to increase take off thrust and reduce the need for longer runways.
