Probably the most unique take on how garlic affects vampires. Usually its just a repellant that only hurts them a bit or it doesnt affect them at all and they mock it. Garlic being a narcotic and one they actively avoid is pretty funny. 😂

Personally, my favorite anime vampire is Hikari Takanashi from Interviews With Monster Girls. She actually loves garlic, and was dismayed to see that it supposedly repels vampires. My personal theory is that the reason why it repels vampires is because they have a strong sense of smell (beyond that of humans), and garlic is a very strong-smelling ingredient (even to many human noses), they're repulsed by the strong smell.
