Debating between this and the 530. Think having the navigation will help me venture out to more new trails. I like the black/white screen of this one because its compact and less distracting, but hear the 530 is supposed to be better for the turn by turn I don't mind the idea of having to plan the route ahead of time with the trail builder option. Did you have any issues when you went off course and got back on it later?
@DesFit3 жыл бұрын
The off course rerouting works fairly well, although I’ve had a handful of occasions where it got confused. I still rely on it though. You can set up a basic black and white data page with just the non-distracting data fields that you desire while still having additional pages for navigation, etc... Hope that helps!

I always watch your review before I purchase sports gears.. this time. I am looking at a bike computer .. wanted to ask .. before I begin, I am already using a garmin instinct solar to sync with my garmin senors ( speed and cadence ) as I didn't have a bike computer before this. .. here's the questions 1) Given the above ( garmin instinct use ) will a garmin edge 130 be better in recording and information, besides the display being in front of me rather than on my wrist. 2) I heard about the horrible battery life of edge130 if I cycle at night ( which I do ) with backlight on.. it last less than 2-3 hrs. True ? 3) I have been told that I should get a bryton 320 or 420 instead with much better battery life ( 35hrs) Lastly, can I record the same rides on both my instinct as well as the edge 130 ? .. will that create a conflict when these information are uploaded via garmin connect ? or just recorded as 2 separate rides ? Appreciate your advice here. thank you !

Just took the new one out for a ride today and it's coming up short about 9%. Gps lost connection a couple of times during the ride. Not sure what your experience is??? But 9% short is going add up to about 300 miles a year lost!
@garycarter993 жыл бұрын
@@pyromonster99 i bought a 130+ and returned it for a 530+. mostly because my eyes have sh*t the bed and the 130 was too hard to read. that being said, i would recommend a wheel sensor to help with mileage accuracy. as i have been told (and experienced) the wheel rotation counts all movement - tight switchbacks get overlooked by satellite alone. with the combo of satellite and wheel rotation tracking, my identical rides are now more consistent in miles. give or take .05 -.1 over a 12 mile ride. hope this helps you.
@pyromonster993 жыл бұрын
@@garycarter99 precisely, gps can't account for terrain variations your wheel actually travels, that adds up. When gps looses connection momentarily, the wheel speed sensor can still provide feedback. Ordered a wheel speed sensor, will see how that goes.
