Great on both pts 1 & 2. Some vids on the G1000 can run for 1hr++. You covered everything in great time w/o going so fast that the tutorial became useless nor did you sacrifice clarity for brevity. I love both tutorials! Unquestionably the best as an IFR student. One thing that I would like to see you cover is the use of the HSI w multiple nav mode in a realistic scenario! Thanks.

Great video! I'll be starting my first pilot job on a King Air, and it's equipped with G1000's, so this series has been extremely helpful. Hopefully, you could, in the future, do a similar tutorial that goes more in-depth about the GFC700 autopilot. I'm sure it would be really insightful. Thanks again and take care! 😁

You can use the "Range" knob to determine the elevation of wherever you are flying over. Simply push it in and the information pops up in the upper left of the MFD. This is helpful during maneuvers to determine pivotal altitudes and floor limits. You can also pan to find obstacle elevations if needed for added situational awareness.

Nice job Trent! I always have trouble trying to turn the knobs on the G1000 PFD or MFD . I am using the mouse. Could it be a poor mouse or control setting or other issue? Do you use the mouse to adjust ( ALT, HDG, Coms etc.)or are using another device other than the mouse? MSFS 2024

also is the relative only related to terrain below you or also traffic, finally on topography when i see moving arrows how can i tell how far from me they are or below me or on top of me
@trent_dyrsmid
@trent_dyrsmid 2 сағат бұрын
@@ClaudeFrancois-f2t relative is with respect to terrain that you could crash into. As for the other aircraft if they have a + in front of the number, they are above you if they have a - in front of the number, they are below you.

Thank you for the video! Really appreciate it as I’m preparing to start my instrument rating. One question I have is why are there COM and NAV functions on both the PFD and MFD. Is that for redundancy?
@trent_dyrsmid
@trent_dyrsmid 11 ай бұрын
No. They are the same system. Just displayed in multiple places.
@jjares
@jjares 7 күн бұрын
I know I am very very late to your question, but... the actual screen/hardware of the pfd and mfd is literally the same device, g1000 is built out of components. The knobs for nav and comm will already be there because of this, in both the mfd and pfd. The header is mostly shared, changing one just changes the other as well, and com1/2 nav1/2 is equally available in both. My best guess is they didn't want a non-functioning button, but the same thing happens all over the place, the heading knob, the cursor/baro knob, they all operate on the pfd even if using it on the mfd.

i have some questions if you can help me out flying garmin 1000 fs 2024, if i am flying east, ATC says i am 5 miles north west of airport, does this mean i have to turn and fly south north to get to airport? also when i look at moving map, i don't see my plane all i see is the ground moving unlike what you have on the video. even after i keep zooming different levels. Finally whe i put a flight plan direct the airplane keeps circling the airport as opposed to going to the next way point. any suggestions would be appreciated. one last question, if the map is oriented north , i am flying east heading then i should see my movement on the map on the east or right side of moving map, correct.
