In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens kzbin.infoUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.

The Fishing Specialties mount is capable of holding both the Live Scope Transducer and a regular transducer on the bottom. Just run the Live Scope cable through the tube 1st. You also have to make the slot in the bottom mount wider. Fishing Specialties will make the slot wider if you ask them to at the time of your order. That is how I'm running mine to my Garmin Echomap Plus 93sv. This also allows me to side scan forward & back in addition to side to side. Can't say enough good things about how flexible the Fishing Specialties mount makes things.

FYI: Garmin says you can break some of the fine grade wiring when you zip tie the LiveScope transducer cable. They recommend using tape (electricians tape) for each attachment of the transducer cable. VERY important on a $1000 transducer!!!

Thanks for the comment. I should have mentioned that the zip tie is only loosely applied and the wire can move around underneath it. You are correct, it's very important not to torque on the zip tie.

Liked all your Livescope videos - thanks in advance.
@fishingwithjc8475
@fishingwithjc8475 4 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on what type of fishing you do. If you're a panfish/bass fisherman, then I think it's (Livescope) worth it. If you fish for carp, catfish or muskies, then you have to really weigh the risk reward aspect. If you do any type of jigging where your line is going straight down, then the Livescope is utterly amazing. If you are throwing baits on the shore and retrieving, it can still help, but the effect is diminished somewhat. Personally, I think $1500 is a bit much. But you have to pay a premium for new products. I would highly recommend the Fishing Specialties mount. It allows me to easily turn the 'ducer and also pull it out of the water when I have to retrieve lures close to the bank. It's the only place I would mount it, except maybe the transom. As for the Echomaps, I think you get the most bang for the buck with them, and I highly recommend them. Hope that helps, and tight lines my friend!!

I've got the 93sv uhd at my console hooked up to the uhd transducer on my transom . I bought the same bowducer pole from fishing speciates to put live scope on. will the live scope hook to my 93sv uhd without unhooking my transducer on the back of the boat? I would only be using 1 at a time till I can buy a screen for the bow.
@fishingwithjc8475
@fishingwithjc8475 3 жыл бұрын
You won't be able to hook both transducers directly to the sonar units (unless the new uhd's have dual sonar inputs). You will need some sort of network connector to connect the two units together. Once they are connected, any transducer that's connected to either unit will be shared between the two units. I hope that helps. Tight lines my friend!

@@anonymous_friend So far it hasn't been too bad. I typically don't adjust it much when fishing, just as you wouldn't adjust a transducer mounted on the transom. Great video! I'm thinking of using the Fishing Specialties mount for my own Livescope. Do you still think it's better than using one of the Ulterra mounts? @fishingwithjc8475

I pretty much had to use the Fishing Specialities mount because of the collar that slides up and down the shaft when you stow/unstow the motor. I have seen other videos where people have mounted it to the trolling motor with no problems (as far as I'm aware). I like the mount I'm using because it stays stationary and doesn't change every time the trolling motor turns. I use spot lock a lot and that causes the trolling motor to change direction an awful lot. If I want to turn the beam, then I reach down and move it by hand or simply turn the boat. So far I've had zero problems with the beam being next to the trolling motor. Thanks for the comment and watching!!

My zip tie was loosely attached, not torqued down. The wire can move freely underneath the zip tie so no pressure is being exerted. It is just there to prevent the wire from getting caught on structure. I should have mentioned that in the video, as it is very important not to torque on the zip tie (as you mentioned). Thanks!!

@@samedgin9435 I used the network ports on the black box for the high definition transducer and the port on the black box for the livescope. @@fishingwithjc8475 This looks like a very nice setup so I'm following your diagram. Livescope on the Trolling motor. I liked the UHD setup here because you can network through it and it saved me 200+ on the network expander I would have needed since the livescope uses this port. It does a couple of things. It's main purpose is to provide high definition signals to the Echomap plus units. Secondly, it networks the two plus units together and allows them to share all attached transducers (minus the old 93sv unit that is on its own). I believe they sell a networking unit, but that's all it does is networking. The GV20 allowed me to network and get high def signals, it's a win-win. Thanks for watching and commenting!
