*I bought this model for my 14 ft Jon boat. **enjoyable.fishing** recommend love it!!! It pushes my boat with ease ( 2 men 220 each). I would highly recommend this to anyone.*

Do you have a master shutoff or accessory switch for the graphs and transducers to avoid parasitic drain when not in use?
@fishingwithjc84753 жыл бұрын
No, I keep my batteries on chargers and the faceplate removed from the sonar units.
@scottscaneh3 жыл бұрын
You're absolutely right Cisco Kid there is parasitic drain on the panoptix and ethernet boxes as well as the garmin display when plugged into the cradles. The only why to stop that is put switches on the panoptix and ethernet boxes and takes the displays off the cradles then zero power will be running through them. I would also not have anything else on my main motor but the motor alone and a cranking battery not a deep cell. The trolling motor should have it's own battery and the rest on its own batteries
@ciscokid24443 жыл бұрын
@@scottscaneh Yeah I heard the pan optics doesn't like anything else but a straight shot to the battery. I'm considering a little lithium battery for electronics.

@@ciscokid2444 good idea I have also heard people use dewalt and milwaukee 18v drill batteries

@@scottscaneh yes I heard that too. I picked up a small lithium for my kayak electronics. Maybe I'll get one for my bass boat two 93SV and panoptics.

Garmin and others recommend not using trolling batteries for electronic die to feedback issues.
@fishingwithjc8475 Жыл бұрын
I never had any issues with feedback, but in my new boat, I have a dedicated electronics lithium battery. Runs all my electronics for over 19 hours. I did a video on that install, too.

Could you link or list the components you used great choices!

Thanks. I list all the components starting at 1:58 in the video. I also did an installation video and I show all the components as well.

I just went to Lowes and told them what I wanted to do and they recommended one. Just make sure to use silicone after you've made your connections if they have the possibility of getting wet. Just coat where the wire meets the screw. Thanks for watching!

The best way is Lithium battery 14volt or 20volt lead acid battery’s are only 12volt and discharge down from there. Lithium batteries will maintain higher voltage over a longer period of time

I'm considering going with lithium batteries when my agm batteries die. Hopefully the price will come down, because they are pricey right now.

Thanks for the video! Curious did you have issues specifically losing just the livescope transducer connection but everything else remained fine? That’s what I’m currently dealing with
@fishingwithjc84753 жыл бұрын
My main issue was power related, yours sounds to be connection related. If your voltage is below 12v, then it could be related to low voltage. If not then there's something else going on. Have you called garmin? They are usually pretty good at determining your issue. Good luck and thanks for checking out my channel. Much appreciated.
@Oxinder Жыл бұрын
I’m having that that issue. If my voltage drops to below 11v it drops livescope but everything else works. I’m going to add a battery under my dash to run just the livescioe black box.

I wonder what a AGM is ,,
@fishingwithjc84753 жыл бұрын
The acronym stands for “absorbed glass mat” and that’s one of many improvements made to Planté’s original train light battery. Glass mats, cushioning the ultra-thin lead plates, will squish like a sponge. In turn, manufacturers can squeeze more glass mats and lead into one battery. More lead equals more power. Plus, that squish factor means the battery’s insides are packed tightly. AGM batteries also have valves regulating the amount of hydrogen and oxygen gas allowed to escape during charging. They fall under a broader category of valve-regulated, lead-acid (VRLA) batteries, typically used for storing a lot of power for a long time or for long-running power uses.

See you are completely backwards from my set up. I run my traditional sonar and Garmin displays from my starter battery. I have 2- 93sv uhd and 1- 94sv displays. My trolling motor and livescope share the 24 volt deep cycle battery’s. Yes panoptix will run on 12v, 24v even 36v. Look in the manual it tell you. So livescope has never killed my trolling motor battery’s plus I run a minn Kota terrorva i-Pilot and can be spot locked or on that trolling motor heavy all day and livescope on to never had a issue Now unless you wire in your own switch in the 24v system for livescope. You have to disable it and enable it from the display when it’s not in the water 😂
@fishingwithjc84753 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the comment. I talked to Garmin about this and they said I could have a dedicated battery for just the units if I desire. So I may end up having two batteries for my trolling motor, one for the starter and one for all the sonar equipment. That will be my next upgrade. Tight lines!!

@@fishingwithjc8475 to me another battery just for electronics seems just added weight to the boat. Personal try it out with your display running off the stater batter or “house battery” and wire panoptix into your trolling motor battery. Mine works great never tan battery’s down. 👍👍
@fishingwithjc84753 жыл бұрын
@@craigcanterbury264 mine is working okay and I have plenty of power at the end of the day. You're probably right about the added weight. I may just leave it as is. I'm getting ready to add another graph, so I'll probably add it to the starting battery.
