You are working with a 20 deg. Line of sight. It works best from 75’ back. Your best view will be between 50 and 75’. With garmin specks. I found changing the angle of the transducer helps to see structure closer. Like a flashlight point it directly at your target.

Do you run one click down from horizontal? When running forward view .. not perspective view.

Last Saturday went to the hardware store and bought a piece of 4" angle aluminum to create a temporary mount so we could try the Perspective. Loaded the software and out on the water we went. One hour later we were back in the parking lot getting our tools out of the truck to put the transducer back in the vertical position. We were pre-fishing for big females in 2'-3' water and wanted to cast to them. Technology needs some more fine-tuning before we can use it in tournaments. Will be nice as Garmin continues to perfect the technology.

*I had nothing but troubles when I installed the panoptix in boat with two new Garmin fish finders **allabout.wiki/iz8t** lost sonar this and that .. after doing a lot of reading this thing needs to be direct to battery not to fuse box or spliced into a hot wire . I took everything apart today hooked it up to a stand alone battery and not one error at all . I might get a kayak battery just for this to run on . going this weekend to big musky lake I can not wait !!!!*

You probably already know this but both angles on the ducer are critical. Especially the 20 degree down. Also it works really good with the pole on a ram mount that allows you to make minute adjustments on the angle from vertical. You need to be able to pitch forward or rearward ever so slightly. The ram mount allows this. The mount in the boat for the pole. I chunked that hard mount that FS has for the ram. Way better.

No need to get any special or old sd card. Use the existing one in the machine without reformatting. It works, Ive done it. Easy peasy.

The perspective view is more of a searching tool like side image/down image and then you fish it with a forward view or down view. You will get a better image utilizing the standard Garmin Perspective Mode Mount. Keep it simple.

I have made a bracket for my transducer pole to use for Down/Forward/Prospective modes. I have the 11.20 software update loaded on a new #10 micro SD card. I'm going to the lake for a week and was looking forward to upgrading to Prospective view BUT... NOW with all of the negative reviews and responses about the update messing up forward view (grainy) and the prospective view isn't really all that it was meant to be, well I think that I will hold off updating the software on my unit. I love Livescope forward view and don't want to mess it up. Keep in mind you can not go back after you update the software. I don't think anyone is very impressed with the Prospective view. I feel GARMIN should have done a much better job testing and debugging the software to ensure everything was in good order before releasing it. Thanks for the video.

Get you a second black cone on your fish spec mast, so you can simply lift it straight up and travel on the water with the transducer out of the water You will be surprised at how quickly you can transition back to the transducer being in the water. There is an extension for the handle and one to make it taller. I have yet to try prospective, as I am trying to figure how to incorporate my two scopes.

Downloading the software update from a PC is different from a MAC. If you own a PC do not drag and drop the downloaded file onto the SD card it will not unzip the file and the Garmin Chartplotter will be unable to unzip the folder.

When in deeper water, turn transducer downward and up to about 20 feet, not much in deeper water past that. I cleaned my screen grid lines off and like it better. Ky

I can’t see my bait unless it’s under the transducer which means catching fish under the boat. When I throw out my bait, it never shows up in forward view

Check out low pro rod racks. I have one and worked great. Do you have one box and two livescope transducers ? I really don’t see perspective being that beneficial other than finding structure but sidevu does that so ... ? I am not a fan of mine.

I saw two instances one by Josh Jones can’t remember the other one showing two transducers one in perspective mode the other one in forward mode on one trolling motor shaft and of course two chart plotters. The one I can’t remember showed video. He was saying and demonstrated in use explaining once synchronized really impressive.

We are having the same problem super grainy and garmin has been sent a bunch of videos from us on the problems.I can’t see why garmin would say to use a sd card when they have active captain and that’s what we have always used.Foreard view is totally use less now also.We believe they are using us as the beta testers.

Tried mine out Sat. Wasn't impressed at all. You jig will fall below the view and be above the view and not be able to see it. It's still a 20 deg angle. Maybe I still have to adjust it.

@@fire71man Make sure your unit is on forward view and the transducer is set correctly. I have a 126sv and I can look forward or down by changing it on the unit.

@@joevaughan9983 ok. When I change the position of the transducer, it changes automatically on my 106SV. Is there any way I could have put the transducer on incorrect and It’s looking at down scan when it says forward scan? I hate to sound stupid but this thing is driving me nuts

@@fire71man Where did you mount the transducer? Trolling shaft or separate. Regardless, looking forward mine is on the left side of the shaft with the holes for transom mount ventricle looking up.

Where did you get the portable mount for your livescope transducer and what kind is it? I have just bought the livescope and trying to decide what mount to go with. My dad will be fishing with me most of the time and we can use 2 seats up front, but not certain if i should go with the tm mount or portable mount. I dont have spotlock at this time, but planning on get it next year. Whats your thoughts? Thanks

I like the TM mount method, but that's just me. Regardless of how you go.....It can be changed very quickly. So try a few methods. The TM method is free

I just bought a LiveScope waiting for it to come in however I'm telling I DESPISE companies that advertise things YOU CAN'T EFEN BUY!!!!!! I'm making my own Screw Garmin or tell me who has the darn thing they can sell... Quite frustrating. Just keep it off the market until you have inventory close to the sales you know your company has already produced. No disrespect to you 3lb. Limit out.........
