Glad the video was helpful for you! After using my unit for a full season, I still think it's an awesome unit!!

Excellent video Jim. I really like the depth color option. My Humminbird has a depth highlight option, but not as customizable as your Garmin. Nice work on the Wipers too.

really looking at this unit for my boat. Was looking at the Lowrance Elite-7ti but came across this and am intrigued. only thing it doesn't have is the touch screen. New unit will have side imaging. thanks for this video.

Has anyone found the contours not showing on screen? Quickdraw says it is recording but it does not show the contours. Thanks, Mike

So to get this straight, after recording you still can change colors whatever you want? So for example first I did 10-30 feet is green, but i want it to be blue I can change that? Or do I have to set it up before recording the map? Thanks for the video
@StructureFishing6 жыл бұрын
yes, you can change colors, and any depth shading at any time!

Where do the blue and brown wires go. I have a75 sv. Thanks
@StructureFishing5 жыл бұрын
They re not needed, unless you are hooking up 2 units, then it will be able to share waypoints.

In another video somewhere it shows the quickdraw being overlayed to google earth. Do you know how it's done?
@StructureFishing5 жыл бұрын
I did that before, but the only way is to copy (screen capture) the quick draw image on a pc for than overlay. I did that on my red lake Canada video.

HI I was watching your video , and I liked it . I have one question I have a garmin echo 65cv I want to do shadding of colours to the contours of my built in map , the depth shading , is it possible to do this in the fishing chart
@StructureFishing6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I believe the color shading will display the same on the built in maps.

garmin sells a lakeview card. Do these models already have it downloaded on the unit or does the separate card have more stuff included?
@StructureFishing8 жыл бұрын
It depends on the sub model number, some units have Garmins built in maps, some don't. Compared to Navionics, Garmin's built in maps are horrible. I love my Garmin unit for mapping, but if you want to rely on existing maps, I run a 2nd unit (Raymarine Dragonfly) that I use as a chart pliotter loaded with Navionics maps.

Have you found the 73 to be big enough? I'm wanting to get two, bow and console. Curious if I need to spend the extra money. Thanks
@StructureFishing7 жыл бұрын
Yes, the 7" is big enough. I did upgrade to the 9", but mostly to see more map while on the water. I think the 7" is just fine. Check for a refurbished unit. I managed to buy a refurbished 9" on Ebay at a very good price.

Thank you for the reply. I pulled the trigger on two 73sv plus units. Bought extra stuff to mount them side by side, on both the bow and console.

So, I bought the 73sv and when I put an SD card in the slot the LakeVu maps disappear. as soon as I remove the card the maps come back. shouldn't I be able to see the LakeVu maps when the card is inserted?
@StructureFishing7 жыл бұрын
You should be able to see the built in map all the time (from what I recall). i would call Garmin support, they have the BEST support, you almost always get connected to a REAL person in just a few minutes.

what unit is this on? looking at the73sv...
@StructureFishing8 жыл бұрын
I have the 73DV (non-chirp) model. The software (quickdraw) should be the same on all units, regardless of model.

How can you import/edit the contours to pc? wich program should I use? thank you
@StructureFishing7 жыл бұрын
You can not edited the contours/map. If you want to print a copy, I take screenshots and then i edited them together in photoshop, That's the inly way i know if how to do it.

What is the smallest cone angle on this unit
@StructureFishing6 жыл бұрын
depends on the transducer. Most of them are listed as 45/15. Although it appears you can not select the smaller cone, or when it is used. I prefer a smaller cone, but I believe the Clearvu most likely uses the wide cone so more area is covered for the mapping. Good question, I wish you could select the cone angle.

What lake is that? Just out of curiosity?
@StructureFishing7 жыл бұрын
Braidwood lake. It's a cooling lake in northern Illinois. Here is a video of the fish caught on that structure after it was mapped! kzbin.info/www/bejne/hKCWYouLr6mfjsk

How fast is the boat moving when you record? I heard you mention trolling, have you tried recording when going faster, like on plane?? Thanks, great videos.
@StructureFishing7 жыл бұрын
I've found that you can go over 10mph and still record/map. If your getting a good signal there will be a green shading around your position on the unit. When it turns orange it indicates your signal is not as good but it is still recording. It will then turn red if you are going too fast to get a good bottom signal. If the water is very flat, I have gone as fast as 18mph and still had a good signal.

Where's the best place to put your transducer on the 93sv?
@StructureFishing5 жыл бұрын
The best place is where you have little to no turbulence. This means not behind a stake or something that may cause turbulence. Some people insist it be on the right side of the prop and others say just the opposite. I don't think that matters at all, as long as you have little to no turbulence. Another thing,, you want the bottom of the transducer to be just below the water. Many people think putting the transducer well below the water line is ok. If you do that, it will create turbulence at high speed. Keep the bottom of the transducer just below the water level.
