When you were talking about installing mounting screws on a Basscat did you mean the strap has to be positioned so the screws go through it?

One thing I saw he didn't mention was u should also pay attention to the head of trolling motor when installing u don't want that thing hanging over the rail it can interfere w boat covers an when u pull up to a dock u don't want head of trolling motor hitting anything. So the angle of mount is very important!

Todd, how did he route your LVS 34 cable across the trolling motor and into the boat without it getting pinched? Seems like it would work better if the LVS cable was ran on the starboard side on the trolling motor.

I just bought a brand new Phoenix from #1 dealer in US based in KY. My Garmin install looks 50% correct. I don’t have a 180 degree loop over the deployed position!?!! Got me wondering issue, non issue or installer preference….no zip ties!

Is all the hate for this motor coming from the Minn Kota folks? I’m so torn on Ultrex quest vs Force. I have all garmin electronics so the Force makes the most sense but lots of complaints about the foot pedal response, gps over-correcting, etc. I’ve always had a Fortrex or basic cable steer so having a hard time deciding between the quest and the Force.

FYI…..I hate the Garmin trolling skeg!!!! It’s rubber it doesn’t protect the prop and it will bend under the pressure of the boat cover. Carry an extra troll prop mine in chewed up because the skeg is crap and the prop is harder than other brands and it breaks and chips easily Garmins offers a longer skeg that’s not rubber, but it’s pricey. I’m gonna have a few 3d printed of the original skeg made for me that should perform better and protect the prop.
