A quick look at how I installed my Garmin Zumo XT to my Yamaha Tenere 700. Including mounting and wiring. I am in no way a professional but this might help you out with your own install.

Hey mate...how do you like your Zumo? I have been looking to buy a GPS and was wandering if you had any problems with it so far? Is it easy to use?...keep up the good work with your videos...if you ever down the South Coast of NSW look me up and I will show you around..cheers Craig

I just ordered one for similar reasons - phone battery goes down even plugged in, using maps. You got a good deal - cheapest I could find was $799 (read there was a sale earlier in the year 🙃). Hopefully the Vstrom has similar plugs and I don't need to take tank, etc off to wire to battery. With your DRZ, did you wire to battery or piggy-back off another wire?

There is a whole history of Zumo XT hot shoe connector problems involving pins breaking etc following off road trips . Do you know whether these been sorted out? See Zumo forum

How’s the Zumo going for you in the VIC high country? What Map are you using?

Zumo is going great. Unsure what you mean. I use the maps that come on the zumo 👍🏼

@@_JoshJB_ ah sweet, wasn’t sure if you put a different map on it or just used what came with it…. So all the tracks show up? I have been hesitant using one as I get the impression from users that not all tracks are displayed! I’m currently using an iPhone with the Gaia GPS App….

@@OzzyADV there might be a few that don't show up but for the most part it gets me by. I also have Gaia on my phone as a back up if I need to check anything.
