There was a row of housing commission homes built here with identical floor plans. The builder would dig out the footings for the first one, set up the reo and call the inspector. As soon as the inspector had left the site after signing off, they would lift the reo, carry it next door to the next build and call for the Agi truck to fill the foundations on the first site. This continued down the entire street with the result that only the final house had reo in the slab. Eventually, Inspectors wised up and started using spray paint to mark the reo they inspected.

That part about grey water triggered some childhood flashbacks 😂. My dad had his little one man company where he would finish the concrete, motorised trowels and whatnot, whilst the rebar work and actually pouring the concrete was done by whatever construction company sub-contracted him. If you really fucked the gear, not only did you effectively buy it but we were red lining you and passing your info along to our competitors (We all knew each other very well and got along nicely) so they could handle you in the proper manner if you went to them.
