Hi Mark, Great to hear from you! Yeah we did think about Mike and Ben who we had hiked to the summit with earlier this year. Sadly on that occasion there were no views to be had, hopefuly they will return and enjoy them another day. Don't delay, you will love this area, the solitude and feeling of remoteness is awesome. garn fora ratch If it's that good your friends will no doubt return and I definitely have it in my folder. There's a few places and this is one. We love remoteness also. We just did a great hike in the Cambrian Mountains. If interested look out for the 'Wild Irfon Way' on our channel. You won't be disappointed in sitting back and watching the video. Hiya Geordie, Blessed with some smashing views from the summit, unlike our previous times up there. Culsharg bothy is in a corker of a place, sadly it has been mis-used by the wrong un's. Very basic inside, but never the less good shelter. Mixed bag of weather, but all good stuff. ATB R&D

Hiya Chris, Gotta love the Terra Nova Quasar, awesome piece of kit. We've had ours years and will never part with it, loads of life in it. Galloway is great for what we do, we like a good hike into a camp and enjoy that as much as the camp itself. Mixed bag of weather, but all makes for good footage, blue skies aren't as dramatic. Got lucky Mike, we were thinking about the pair of you's, so gave you's a mention! It was cold on top, when hanging around camp. Nothing near as cold as when we all summited earlier in the year though. Hope it gave you a glimmer of how beautiful it is up there. know that area well, lovely barren landscape, the wind can hit you hard going across that saddle, lol I'm heading up Meric on Sunday, weather to be great, we had a chuckle when you shouted out is that me over there in jeep lol, Rodgers tent looked colourful with the mats, & a nice Cappuccino, bliss, excellent footage, very relaxing, I also enjoyed a Cappuccino whilst watching, we are gutted we can't make mounthooley but a few more camps coming, we are working on a meet up early next year after Ged & George's, enjoyed, atb D&C

Nice camping and location. The problem with mountain tops is finding enough drinking water for cooking or carrying it with you. The Terra Nova tents seem to stand up well to bad weather and the Quasar that you have is probably a bit roomier than our TN Voyager superlite tent. Martin and Sharron

Hi Guy's, This is an area we are very fond of, and look forward to visiting again. Water can be an issue, hydrating well before is essential. Generally we will carry 2-3 litres each, for a summit camp, and whilst route planning check for places we can filter and replenish. We love our Quasar, it has served us well for many years, heavy for one person to carry, but fine when split between two. The dual entrance is a bonus, the only downside is it's inner pitch first.
