I have found if I eliminate a pull tab or bottle top it will still allow other pull tabs through if they are in the ground at a different angle than the one I illuminated.

I just used my ace 300i in Montenegro. what could be the reason why when I search it goes completely crazy. beeps and the display runs from 25 to 99. as if the signal is being disturbed?

I just bought the Ace 300 and when i "shake it" or "bump" the ground it starts crazy beeping is that normal?

How high did you have the sensitivity when this was happening? Some areas have very high mineral content and when using a sensitivity of even 4 bars can make it go crazy. Another possibility is Power lines or telephone wires, this can also interfere with the detector, you can change the detectors frequency(?) to try stop this. Beaches have high mineral content and when nearing wet sand I like to put the sensitivity down to 2 bars to get the least amount of random signals.

Generally, the lower frequencies are better for depth especially on larger targets with high conductivity. The higher frequencies are better on small thin, low conductors. If a machine has a frequency shift/adjust then it's to eliminate interference from something.

This unit, just the coil, not the display unit, I tried on shallow water, in a lake, maybe 2 feet deep and worked fine, remember, just the coil is waterproof.

My Ace 300 say says the coil is waterproof and I clean it with water after every use

In the test on the bench with three gold pieces of different sizes (earring, ring, bracelet) I had very different numerical values: 10, 60, 80. Also, if I use the maximum sensitivity I get a lot of false signals. This detector is a big disappointment.
