You could see that Garrett was annoyed with himself for asking if he had a set and finding out he was crushing him. He ran it twice as a courtesy for it. Garrett proves that you can be very entertaining and a class guy at the poker table. Every time chip he uses comes with an apology.

i watched the stream, the commentator made a good point, that Garrett ran it twice just cause he knows that Big John is not a pro player, so he just let him take his money back or at least try to...so its just another class act of him. you dont really want to chase off all the player by stacking each and everyone each stream, sometimes its better to lose or chop instead of killing all the vibe of the table for the rest of the night. For him its just another exhibition game kkk

For a pro player it makes no difference mathematically to your expected return if you run it once or twice or three times. Running it more than once does reduce your variance slightly.

I think he ran it twice cause as soon as he called his all in, he asked if he got a set and got a response. it would of looked bad on his part to knowing he's so far ahead and then decline running it twice. It doesn’t change the equities, he’s not giving anyone a chance, it’s a free courtesy. It’s rumoured some pros only run it once because of past superstition OR because they want to encourage people to bluff them less who might not have the cash to support many buy ins. If your properly rolled to handle the variance then all running it twice or five times is flatten out variance more. The vast majority of pros are happy to reduce variance.

Everyone here talking about Garrett getting burned by offering BJ the double run. The fact is Garrett asked b4 that even came up if he had the most plausible hand for that action which would have been the set of queens. BJ answered, not offering when he knew the plausible outcome of that hand would have been shady AF.

I mean idk why everyone thinks so highly of him. Garrett asked Double M what he has, asking if he has Set, and Double M said no with no significant sign of strength. Garrett then got comfortable and opened up his most likely nuts AA, as if he just wanted to run once. Double M then opened up his card which is 7s, as he took it as sign of run it once. Garrett realized that he took advantage of taking information after 'all in' as everyone makes decision before they open up cards, etc. That is why he ran it twice, I mean what is the chance of 2 outer comes out anyway? If Garrett wanted to be a real nice guy, it must have been Double M open up his cards accidently, then asking do you want to run once, then Garrett replies back saying nah just run it twice..
