The Garrett Propointer AT is a great little pro-pointer for metal detecting but I've come across a few people who don't fully know how to use it- Especially the trick to increase sensitivity.
In this video I run through all of the features and tricks of the Garrett Pro-Pointer AT. I take you through the settings including all six modes of the pin-pointer by changing the sensitivity level from 1 to 3 and into vibrate only mode. I also show some hit tips and ways to find targets faster.
The Garrett Pro-Pointer AT will continually beep if you lose it or leave it turned on. I use it metal detecting all the time both in and out of the water.

For 30 years i used a whites bullseye 2 pinpointer. Never a problem, still works fine too. Decided to upgrade to the carrot and it drives me crazy! The Whites was on if you pushed and held the button and off when you let go. Always worked fine. Not sure why I need the Carrot but I will use it because it cost a fortune! Good video though, thanks. I was wondering how to get out of the detuned mode.

Greetings from “across the pond!” Have been detecting and using the Pro-Pointer AT for two-plus years and still have trouble with it at times. I struggle with using one button for all functions and making long and short presses for different purposes. At any rate, your video was helpful and I especially liked the part about re-tuning the device to get closer to a desired target. Good sense of humor too!!

I found out when I have it at the high setting and turn it off the sensitivity changes a bit. If I check my target spot and find nothing I cycle back to the 3 beeps and try again! I checked the spot again and the Garrett becomes more sensitive and finds the target. Not sure why, but it does work!

It recalibrates every time you turn it on. That's why in the instructions it tells you to turn it on a good distance away from metal objects.

Great info have an AT max & the z-link carrot used it on dry sand first 2 weeks then had max in 4 inch of water decided to use the pinpointed when I put it in water it goes beeping like something there so I moved it all around still beeping & nothing there any clues thanks

You need to recalibrate it when you put into the water if it does that. Just push the button once while the unit is on and it will recalibrate and stop beeping.

Thanks for the video. You were able to point the tip at the coin. But in real life you do not know where the coin is and you may be getting a signal from the side of the pointer. I am thinking of carrying a 2nd pointer that only detects at the tip like the vibra-probe 285.

Owner of 3 Garrett carrots. All have gone in for repair. Two have gone in twice. Very little use, no abuse. Product has a falsing issue and Garrett repair department poor.
