It's not a catch or a td! He only got his left foot down and lands on the same leg out of bounds. This is NOT a catch
@RedGuajiroАй бұрын
Then he started body surfing on top of the ball when he immediately dropped it after landing, but they kept cutting away from that 😆

@RedGuajiro Which the rule states you have to maintain possession

@@tombergen8337 I'm not a rules expert but if you cough up the ball upon landing for a catch but can hop twice on a foot and have it not be a catch it's a weird look. Quick Google search shows: Maintaining control - If the player goes to the ground, they must maintain control of the ball throughout the process of contacting the ground.
@TheThanatos34Ай бұрын
@@tombergen8337 It actually doesn't. If he makes " an act common to the game" which tucking the ball is specifically spelled out as such, and has control and gets two feet or any one body part other than his hands down, its a catch right there. Thought the same as you at first, but NFL rules are actually pretty clear on this one.

I noticed you said "shin down". Just so you know, the same foot touching the ground twice counts as "two feet in bounds". I only mention this because while he did hit his shin down in bounds.... his left foot hit twice before his shin hit..... so his shin is irrelevant here. Just thought you'd like to know that :)

Does it? That's crazy. Never knew that

I’ve been searching for someone to explain the rules because none of what anyone was saying made sense and you one upped everyone and in simple terms. It seems like an edge case scenario but that’s why we have rules and yet everyone is mentioning the middle of his shin, so why does one foot touching twice equal one shin? Or what has to touch in bounds to count and why did the refs even miss it? And lastly, probably a dumb question but you seem to know your stuff - why doesnt airspace count even if you land outside?
@SKoll1729Ай бұрын
No. This was actually made clear. Pickens got the same foot down twice and it was ruled incomplete. The rule is that it has to be two feet. However, they count the knee, shin, and foot as separate body parts, so the shin is very relevant. Additionally, not sure if he secured the ball when his foot was down the first time, so when it did come back down that was also important
@RandyMoss84GOATАй бұрын
You took all that time to say what you said and what you said is completely wrong...... touching the same foot twice is not the same as getting two feet down.... Just thought you'd like to know... lol.... this just happened four days ago and it was explained for everybody
