So does the "30 for 30" go through all of Gastineau's sacks? Would be a shame if Mark had a questionable sack or two credited to him in his record season, to be this salty his entire retirement... It's really terrible that this is a thing NOW, given Mark's mental health, that's kinda awful if this is a "30 for 30" and the producers were like "...yea, giant dude with mental health issues that's also holding a retirement-long grudge, confronting someone with cameras sounds like a great idea!" With that said, I'm pretty sure this is a lifelong grudge for the dude regardless of where his mental health may have been. Which is just sad man. lmfao at that TKO though🤣

I think when Mark said he's getting his sack back he was just saying he wanted Brett to admit it and apologize so that Mark could mentally be at peace with what happened
@samsizer29199 сағат бұрын
Right, admit it, put an asterisk on it officially for Strahan. That is all well and good but does he realize that T.J. Watt tied Strahan's record, didn't need someone to hand him the record, and played in fewer games than Strahan did (Watt missed a game or two due to injury). Even if ya give Strahan the asterisk, TJ Watt was still legit with it.
@samsizer29199 сағат бұрын
It was 2021, 17 game season but Watt missed two games so he only played 15. Strahan played all 16. Add onto that, Watt left two other games in the first half. I wish it wasn't considered Strahan's record because he did it first. Contextually speaking, when you look at it

Look at the guys celebrating with Strahan and Favre. Everyone appreciated what went down. It’s only “scandalous” now because public perception on Favre is low. Gastineau’s own teammates said he didn’t deserve the hall of fame because he only cared about sacks and played selfish ball. That’s why he isn’t in. If Brady had done that for J.J. Watt or Mahomes did it for Myles Garrett or T.J. Watt today everybody would be like “what a stand up guy, that defensive player worked his ass off and deserved that record.” This kind of thing happens all the time in pro sports.
@ZachFazio-v3y13 сағат бұрын
People have thought it's BS for 20 years. It would be the same thing if Brady did it. Since when does the majority support players flopping so an opponent can get a record. So, If Barkley is 70 yards shy of the rushing record with a few minutes left in week 18, you'd be cool if the entire Giants D took a knee and let him bust off an 80 yard run to get the record? Working your ass off has nothing to do with it. Break the record on your own or come up short. You don't lay down for an opponent to gift them a record. What are the other examples of this happening in the NFL?
@brettwalker601613 сағат бұрын
You don’t deserve anything. You earn it. You act like they’re not millionaires. Records aren’t meant to be given to people.

You're totally right, but... "It’s only “scandalous” now because public perception on Favre is low." ...that part definitely isn't true, people have bitched about this since the day it happened LOL. It's always been dumb too - don't nitpick ONE player's sacks if you aren't going to nitpick EVERYONE's sacks(kinda like when people bring up "yea, but [insert_QB] has a losing record against winning teams, he clearly isn't that good"; then you look up every other QB and there's only like 4 or 5 in the league that don't have a losing record against winning teams lol).

Dude said that record being broken is the reason he’s not in the hall of fame completely ignoring that he’d been retired for over a decade until strahan broke his record
@tuubu911514 сағат бұрын
Well if we're being honest him having that record probably would have put him in the Hall of Fame. Not every player gets in on their first couple of tries a lot of players have to wait over 10 years to get in. For every Tom Brady and Randy Moss is a whole bunch of Chris Carter's out there I've been waiting for years just for consideration
@jaycee207014 сағат бұрын
So that means he was only eligible 6 years since you can't get in until after being retired 4 years. You think if he still had the record to this day, 18 years after Strahan broke the record, you don't think he'd have a better shot of having been inducted? After the NFL becomes a pass happy league and sacks are one of the biggest stats in the game, I'd think he'd get in if he still had the record. I don't know why he isn't in the HoF anyway. He was a beast and played for a decade, leading the league in sacks 2 years in a row. He had 19, 20 and 22 sack seasons. He just had a bunch of off the field issues and now he has health issues.
@katyfabbiano543914 сағат бұрын
@@tuubu9115I'm thinking it's his attitude and it's more than sacks that gets you in the hall. Yes it's an outstanding record but his stats other than sacks simply just don't live up to or deserve that jacket.
