This game is like the immortal of immortals. Some immortals have insane sacrifices but this game you can analyse for months. Tactics, profilaxis, in between moves, iniative, exchange sacrifices, positional ideas,...truly insane.

It's incredible how playing natural moves, developing your pieces, making no clear mistakes and blunders that would be easy to spot without hindsight and/or engine can take you into a resulting hopeless position. Karpov has often been underestimated, and the games like this help the underestimation - it looks like an easy crushing defeat, but how many top-tier players would really consider some Karpov's moves as bad before they see the outcome?

The BRISBANE BOMBSHELL !!!! Honestly, it felt like it is a game of korchnoi's (playing white). Karpov seemed to abandon positional play for material, as korchnoi would. And Kasparov created a masterpiece - his best in my opinion.

@Oissev Onos Agreed, it was Korchnoi's forte, but not Karpov's style as it happened here.
