I knew this game so many time before. Therefore for me the critical position, where Black is lost it is not more interesting for me. I would like to see the mistakes, what Kortschnoi made before.

What an awesome video. So well structured, instructive and overall well done. Nice calm and slightly euphoric chessmode voice too. If you have any further similiar videos, this'll be one of the best chess channels i've ever found

But much more interesting than this position, which already is lost for Black is to explain the mistakes before what Kortschnoi made. Sam you should make another video with the whole game!

Morning Mr. Copeland: I haven't received any news from your enriching classes for a some time. Is there any compelling reason for this?

At 15:40, what if Kd8 Qxf6 Kc8? Black still has the threat and black has several pawns for lost piece.
@xordid

White can just follow up with Rd1 to prevent a rook check and defend the knight simultaneously, and then black can't hang on to his extra pawns anyways.

@@xordid Rd1 hangs a2. Rather Nc3 would be better

However, Qc3+ looks good, piece is a piece and white should win the game especially as he is Karpov

After Rd1 protecting the knight both f7 and d6 are hanging and black doesnt have counterplay with Qxa2 cause of Qc3+ Kb8 Qc7+ Ka8 and Qxg7 hitting the rook.
