Lazy Eights may be flown with greater or lesser degrees of "laziness" depending on how much pitch one uses. I don't know if it's just the way it was filmed (he did say he was just above stall speed at one point) but this one looks particularly lazy. But maybe it just looks that way. Personally, I like to shoot for about 20° of pitch up at the 45° point, which is more aggressive than this one appears to be. A trick you can use if you find your lazy eights are becoming too "tight" or too energetic to get back to the recipricol of your entry point is to start your pitch up well ahead of any roll input, and get a good 100ft or so of altitude gain before you input any roll at all. No one will fault you for this, and it will "spread" your eight out over a bit more distance and give you more time to get it all in without energetic control inputs.

Keep in mind; pitch & bank are constantly changing... as long as you're staying within the altitude / airspeed / heading tolerances of the PTS, go for it!

your a little less aggressive on the controls than i am, i'll usually bring the nose up 10 - 12 degrees above the horizon, 30 degrees of bank with co-ordinated rudder, and I pull around 2 - 2.5 G on my roll outs, than reverse
