After watching this a few times, I've come to a theory of my own. I think the person we're playing as isn't human. It's one of the GV characters with memories from a parent. Think about it. Ban-ban mentions how he's surprised you survived until this point. There's a whole document saying how only GV creatures can survive Sheriff Toadster's capture methods. Ban-ban refers to himself as Ulthman or a doctor. Each creature also acknowledges each other's perceived identities, so the fact that they're treating you like a parent looking for a missing child isn't too crazy. The twist at the end is going to be that the player is one of these GV creatures. Calling it now.

The creators made quite that point that it wasn't meant to be satirical, though if they let loose and have fun it makes the experience better. And after watching Jacksepticeye play it... I do get why he hates it. You are still spending a lot of time and committing to something you aren't enjoying or are having a rough time with. Watching Jack play Banban is how I felt watching Mark play Security Breach. There are some fundamental and basic issues in the game but both Mark and Jack found at least one thing to enjoy through the frustration. Enjoying the game as satire definitely makes it a much easier experience, whether the creators intend it or not. At the end of the day, it's the community that truly decides what genre and style games are.

@@bananatost As someone diagnosed with ADHD, what you're trying to pull is a million times more harmful to public perception of ADHD. I absolutely do suffer from my disorder. You think the reason I struggle to feed myself and pull my life together and cycle through meds like a walking chemistry experiment is because I thought it seemed *fun*? It would seriously help ELIMINATE the stigma to acknowledge that ADHD and other neurological disorders cause problems in people's lives that they can't help. I've spent too much of my life being told "aKcHuLlY there's nothing wrong with you, just tRy HaRdEr," and honestly it's WORSE when people try to dress that same sentiment up in faux progressive language. It's a disorder. Full stop. It interferes with my life and the lives of other people who have it. It's not cute, or quirky, or harmless, or whatever we're supposed to pretend it is by biting our tongues about our struggles. I do acknowledge I'm being curt, but please. Do. Not. Tell people with disorders/disabilities that their problems aren't real or are something we need to shut up about. Not my job to pretend it's sunshine and rainbows because that makes my condition more palatable to people who don't have it. /endrant I know you probably meant well, but please spend that energy learning about these disorders to educate from an informed perspective, instead of telling people how they're allowed to speak about their own disorders. There are some great academic articles in places like pubmed, and communities like r/ adhdwomen to hear people's personal experiences. That understanding goes way, way further to inspire empathy than anything else, especially when that understanding is key to preserving things like our legal protections as people with disabilities, or health insurance covering our medications. Trust me. Losing those things would be the end result of everyone claiming we don't ever suffer.

I'm actually starting to like this game. But for the wrong reasons. It isn't scary by any means. The characters don't move when they talk. The story makes zero sense. But I love how they're slowly leaning more into the meme nature of the game and how self-aware it is. It just adds a certain charm to the game. Plus, Sheriff Toadster has great characterization and has a good VA. Same with Queen Bounceilia and the Jester. It's starting to grow on me. And it does have mild creep factors here and there

Mental health care is the same if not worse, can't access therapy but when you finally can they just shove unnecessary meds down your throat and try to tell YOU what YOUR problem is, or they just think you are attention-seeking (especially if you are a minor)

It really depends. My neurologist is good, but they ran out of my prescription at my pharmacy. (Going to another that has it now) You could get a good neurologist or a bad one. If you think you need meds tho, I’d recommend trying at least.

@@patrickstovall2262 I mean they can’t force you. You can just not take it or pick for the prescription. Honestly, IMO, meds a re a good temporary solution while you work on a long term. Like, take them while rearming coping skills and them ween off them when you have sufficient skills so that you don’t need them. There’s not thing wrong with taking meds. It just balances the chemical imbalance. That being said, it’s okay to not want to take them. My doctor always gives me alternate routes to medication. Sometimes you just need to find the right one.
