I just Finished Hitman Omnibus volume 1 by Garth Ennis& John McCrae…I Absolutely loved this omnibus!! Hitman was so damn awesome it had literally everything I love! From that Tommy Looks like The Terminator,he feels like an American version of Constantine(all the grittiness,always at a bar and deals with supernatural stuff)and it’s set in Gotham city!also you can already see that Ennis is gonna write top notch War Comics from a few different stories in this omnibus.Loved all the homage to John Woo Two Gun Hong Kong movies.Also it has one particular badass story that is a Tribute to Clint Eastwood and all his spaghetti westerns films!(i absolutely love spaghetti westerns)Anyone that knows me knows that Arnold Schwarzenegger and Clint Eastwood are my all time favorite actors and biggest heroes to me since I was a kid(Hitman looks like both).only one that tops them is my comic hero Batman…This is set in Gotham Freaking City did I tell you that yet?! After waiting to read this for over 10 years I would say it is well worth the wait! It’s like Garth Ennis and John McCrea went inside my brain with telepathy (hehe)blended everything I love and made this comic specifically just for me! Easy 5 stars!! Can’t wait till we get volume 2.who knows ..this might actually be the comic series to dethrone my fav comic Run Preacher.Dont walk RUN to go buy this omnibus NOW!!It is a Guaranteed Super Fun Time.

Hitman is like a comic made just for me and all my loves;he looks like the terminator+Clint Eastwood (two favorite actors),is like an American John Constantine(drinker,supernatural stuff),set in Gotham city(my fav fictional city),He has the balls to stand up to Batman(my fav hero).also has zombies,an annual that is like a straight tribute to Clint Eastwood and Spaghetti westerns!Hitman says he never watched John Wayne or John ford movies(Just like me!)he loves beer over hard stuff(just like me!),

Does authors like Garth Ennis (and all the other creators/artists) get money for every Omnibus/Absolut that sells, or do they only get paid when they do the single issues/TPB? My Hitman Omni just arrived today and I am thrilled to read into it. Greeting from Cologne, Germany ❤

I both feel glad ennis killed Hitman off but also feel like Hitman occupied a really unique feel amongst the big two. The crossovers in particular really give the series a unique edge that feel under explored, espically the perspective of the common people in crossover events.

Also I feel like I wish Ennis could appreciate Kirby more because Kirby wasn’t just pushing the superhero genre but also Sci-Fi, horror, apocalypse, war and romance comics, and I feel like that gets lost in the shuffle
