[Lyrics]
Well I ain't got no money. No fancy car.
Ain't got no excuses baby. Hanging at the bar.
I don't owe you a thing baby (x2) I don't owe you a thing (x2)
Oh we ain't getting married. I ain't buying you a diamond ring.
That's alright!
Ain't got no credit. No fancy clothes.
Ain't got no excuses baby, But good man knows...
This all you get now baby, this all you get. (x2)
This all you get now mama, this all you get.
Just name this guitar baby, thats all you get.
Well ain't got no apology, don't be no fairy tail.
Ain't got no excuses baby. Im doing my deal
I don't owe you a thing baby (x2) I don't owe you a thing (x2)
Oh we ain't getting married. I ain't buying you a diamond ring.
That's alright!
Ain't got no money. Ain't got no money car.
Ain't got no excuses baby. Im drinking at the bar.
I dont owe you a thing mama, I don't owe you a thing.
I dont owe you a thing baba, I don't owe you a thing.
Well we ain't getting married. Ain't buying you no diamond ring. (x2)
That's alright! (x2)
Well we ain't getting married. Ain't buying you a diamond ring...

I will dig this gritty sound as long as I can. Thank YOU. My hearing gets worse, but my understanding grows stronger. I'm only 43, and I may be going deaf, but I will appreciate the songs and sounds that will take me into the future. You are spoiled (and dumb) if you don't grab your chance to listen to a talented man. Thank you Gary Clark Jr.

He totally sounds like Dan from the Black Keys on this... Nothing wrong with people making the comparison. Their music styles are similar, but clearly different flares. Gary Clark feels more old school blues, black keys (especially recently) are still very bluesy but doing more genre crossovers, almost pop on some songs. Love both artists. I listen to both on a daily basis. Clark's live shows are especially awesome.... Pop that on KZbin and I'm good to work for an hour.

Let me give yall a little insider info on Gary. I grew up with him, he was first majorly influenced by Dr. Dre and the rise of Rap in the 90s. It wasn't until his sophomore year of High School that he started becoming infatuated with the Blues. The dude can do it all. Eventually he'll be producing his own albums without the constraints of Warner Bros holding him back.

Sorry, I just have to chime in here - I cannot believe the ignorant race comments given in this thread. Some of the comments are appropriate - i.e. why don't more people hear about great black artists like Gary Clark, Jr.? - but since when did exceptional music have a color at all? This isn't about ethnicity, it is about marvelous talent and sound which speaks to your soul. Those of you who choose to focus on race, either positively or negatively, are completely missing the point.

This guy is fucking amazing! Now, before any of you accuse me of being an automatic hater, I'm not. But, as talented and as raw as this guy is, this specific album sounds a hell of a lot like The Black Keys. People have said it before and I'll say it again. This album, being released after the latest Black Keys' records, is far too similar. It's still great modern blues nonetheless. I'm not sure how original it is though. But that's just my opinion.
