Gary Clark JR my new obsession!
@trailertrashtornado21807 ай бұрын
I saw Gary Clark Jr. perform live for the first time as the opener for the Foo Fighters in Memphis TN... and also had the honor to see him again as the headliner at the MInglewood Hall in Memphis a few years later. Good stuff y'all!!
@latirarobinson49607 жыл бұрын
I saw him live in September, he swapped out his guitars for every song. I'd never seen anyone do that before. He's humble on stage, doesn't even stand in the spotlight, he let his band get the spotlights. He gave his opening act Jackie Venson an hour long set. He rocks hard and is a class act. If you get the opportunity to see him, do yourself a favor and go!

I too live for that visceral gut wrenching feeling that can only be brought by a master playing the electric guitar. It can detach you from space and time to a place where the only thing important is the music being created. This man, Gary Clark Jr, has the talent and heart to bring you into his world, and that's a rare gift.
@lisaacampora377111 жыл бұрын
Personally dont like comparing artists to anyone. While everyone is influenced by someone, every artist writes their own book. Every song, every lyric makes a chapter in that book. Just turn your headphones on, turn the world off, listen and enjoy. You like an artist for their particular skill set and explore from there. My 5 cents for what it's worth. Gary Clark is a huge talent.

He's his own talent, artist & man. Congrats to Gary Clark Jr. for being recognized by the Grammy's for what he's bringing. Black Keys are great at what they do. Gary is great at what he does. There isn't a competition, because Gary doesn't believe in it. Plus Gary & the Keys are rolling together so, they're not concerned with all that.

+Matthew Howe you can and should compare him to Hendrix. I'm a fellow lover of Gary's music the same as you brother, but he should be compared to the great Jimi Hendrix because he has that psychedelic style Jimi had. He is a combo of Jimi, Chuck Barry, Robert Johnson, and Eric Clapton. Don't be so nostalgic.
