What the heck is it about Gary Clark Jr? His music is so simple and so ridiculously interesting. His vocal and lead/rhythm phrasing, theme and variation, are simply perfect. God must love the blues cuz He sent us Gary Clark Jr.
@MarkMerrick6 жыл бұрын
And I do respect what rappers are putting out there. They are speaking from their experience which many times has been terribly difficult. In fact the way they use their experiences to make music and even develop and extend music is quite astounding. It's evidence of beauty and power in them that has always been in them, the divine spark, the image of God. If I could offer them one thing I would tell them that they are loved and cherished by God who demonstrated His love by sending His Son Jesus. They are beautiful, perfect, and forgiven just like all of us because of Him. That one idea gives hope that can transform the body, mind, and spirit.

YOU SAID IT! WAS THINKING THE SAME THING, HE BECOMES ONE WITH THE SONG, ANY SONG, THERES PLAYING ON TOP OF A BLUES THEN THERES GETTING INSIDE OF A BLUES....NEVER HEARD HIM OUTSIDE OF A SONG! CLAPTON SAID, HE SAW 2 PPL WITH A NATURAL FLOW, GARY AND JIMMY HENDRIX, I LOVE JIMMY, BUT THE MORE I LISTEN TO GARY? IF I HAD TO CHOOSE ONE, I THINK ITS GARY! ONLY BC OF HIS STYLE I LEAN MORE TOWARDS GARYS SOUND AND THE FEELING OF HIS PLAYING, SO SMOOOTHHHHHH....BUT ITS VERRRRYYYY CLOSE...

Gary has the most hair rousingly authentic guitar sound to come along since Hendrix. With that wailing, liquid voice, this young man is the complete electric blues package. And he can pitch some very tasty soul for those wholike it as well. You can hear echoes of Curtis Mayfield in that smooth tenor delivery.

This is an Albert Collins song with a Magic Sam twist. Check out their versions! Do the blues/rock and roll some justice! Dig deeper! Find the roots of the roots! This kind of music didn’t just spawn in Gary’s head, he has influences. Learn about them and keep this kind of music alive! I think the blues will have a HUGE second coming in the next 50 years.
