I think there have been gaps because he has suffered from depression. Which he has addressed in some specials. He’s very candid of what he has suffered and how he’s come out the other side. His comedy is amazing. It doesn’t date. Only he can make me laugh about grammar.

Well-said gamerdude257 ! Though seeing postings with old spots they had for stand-up comedians, just makes me kinda sad all over again. Like because it's just a reminder that his show used to be an hour..and he had more time for just about everything! Stand-up's, musical performances, and lest-we-forget the ever-classic Jimmy Vivino & The Basic Cable Band! 🎉❤💜💙 Such a staple to his show, and I remember how heart-breaking it was to watch Conan say goodbye to his show-band of 25 years :L And the weird-like transition to the half-hour format. Anyway.. I remember Gary Gulman from a few times, cuz I remember thinking he was legit-ly funny, as opposed to those people you could always tell were trying too hard to win the audience over. Takes talent & skill to appear that natural. ✌👊✨

OH that discman bit is so relatable! In high school, my best friend always had money to blow and got an early-generation discman. Right after high school, I scraped together some extra loot and went discman shopping. By then the discman had ALL those features Mr. Gulman mentioned! That was awesome.

The answer is: academic institutions. They need to give people a lot of random awards and retirement gifts, and they don't care about their staff at all, so they can't be expected to get something meaningful, so they spend hundreds of dollars on a random item from Things Remembered and get it engraved with the person's name. I can't imagine an individual consumer has bought something from that store since I've been alive.
