Something he does with his comedy is reach out to people going through things he's gone through and say "I see you, and you're not alone", and it's just fucking beautiful. Unbelievably good comic.

Damn, he's one of my favorite comedians, but this is a wild set to revisit after everything he revealed last year about his depression. On one hand, it's great that he was able to convert it to comedy in situations like this, but on the other hand, it's terrifying to think about what he was actually going through personally at the time of this set (especially since I relate to several aspects of the set). I'm very glad he was able to get the help he needed to work on his depression, and hopefully he will continue to grow and thrive as a comedian.

I can soooo relate. Never dealt with depression or went thru it til my husband of 22 years asked for a divorce while we were at the beach celebrating. We were walking our dogs when he "told" me and all i could think of was to tell my aged King Scotty Dog to "bite him". I didn't as i was in shock. He had no reason why. When i moved in with my widowed girlfriend of 30 years...i slept in her basement(with Edward...my Scotty dog).I slept fully dressed in my uniform, hat, winter coat, sock and shoes. And ....around my clean and dry clothes that lay for weeks on the bed. Instead of ice cream, it was whiskey and coke for alot of weeks. So Gary, i can relate. BUT it does get better as time goes by. PS...ten years later, he begged me to take him back...said all the women he dated were flat out crazy.

@ of course it is... Let's say everyone got aids, would you say "is it aids if everyone has it"? No you wouldn't, unless you're an idiot taken to a new level of stupidity. And as said, FAR from everyone has it, the world would go under way quicker than it is now if everyone did. People are also dumb enough to say they're depress or whatever when they are just down for the moment. That really undermines true depression which sucks, so few people even come close to understanding what real depression is.
