The guys of today don't know what they missed. I thought all the girls were pretty hot, but liked the one in yellow the best. I read a few comments where it was said that it was Teri Garr. I would not have gotten that, so a big thank you to those that did and for sharing it.

Well the main reason this sounds like Jan and Dean/beach boys is because the backup vocals are done by PF Sloan and Steve Barri, who sang backup on many Jan and Dean songs, PF even sometimes did deans part

Gary has always readily cited Jan And Dean and the Beach Boys as major inspirations. And as evidenced here, he could handle the genre with the best of them. Little Miss Go Go was the flip side of Count Me In, and was also included as a bonus track on an EP sold via mail order by Kellogg's Cereal at the time. For your efforts, you got a black and silver label Liberty 45 with pic sleeve, featuring Count Me In, Little Miss Go Go and the exclusive Doin' The Flake. Classic. All three tracks remain available on various CD compilations.

I believe that is Jim Keltner, famous session percussionist on drums...he was in the Playboys for a while when Gary decided to be out front singing and off the the drums.
@thomastimlin17242 жыл бұрын
Some say this sounds like the Beach Boys...true...but it leans more to the sound of Jan And Dean...like Ride the Wild Surf, Honolulu Lulu...because of the sound of Gary's vocal tone, and, the call and response of the lead vocal and back ground singers with the overkill on the high voice especially "woooo...." or even the song "GTO" by the Ronnie and the Daytonas the previous year 1964. The Beach boys had become more sophisticated in their song writing and harmonies with Help Me Rhonda, California Girls, The Little Girl I Once Knew by 1965. However that said, I'd be glad to meet the Go-Go Girls in the film back then regardless of all that...lol

Carl Radle who was the Bass player for Eric Clapton & Leon Russell on acoustic guitar in the start. Jim Keltner on drums. Also Tommy Tripplehorn, father of actress Jeanne Tripplehorn. Pretty sure that's Teri Garr as one of the Go-Go dancers. She was a dancer on the T.A.M.I. Show the year prior. Written and Arranged by Leon Russell.
