I met Garry Moore in 1992 in London at a gign my friend was promoting Frankly, he was the nicest person anyone could hope to meet. I was lucky enough to have more than a few drinks with Gary and the band after the gig. I met him a few times after that and all I can say is that he was a unique musician. He loved people - displayed no side or judgement and could relate to anyone - he just embraced whatever life's shit hand dealt and managed to find a positive somewhere under the dirt. Over the years I have known a lot of famous people in the business - few will measure up tp this man - and many will never simply compare. He was (and still remains) a blues rock god. Sadly, even gods die. RIP Gary you are still loved. Nicko

The thing about Gary Moore is that he had more heart than the metal players and more technique than the blues players and that's what made him so blisteringly soulful.

When I listen to any other guitar virtuoso’s song on KZbin and I read the comments, it’s mostly about how technically proficient the guy is or how fast is he playing. When you read the comments here or on any other Gary’s song, you’ll read people describing about how deep they feel his music. Tells you that he was doing something right. This many people can’t be wrong. And that is point of music my friends. That’s the point of any art form. Making people feel something. Something worth revisiting again and again.

He did fall for alcohol though and unfortunately died relatively young
@j.whiteoak640810 ай бұрын
@@MrAdriancooke His B.A.C. was 3when he died was 3.80 !!! I was shocked when I learned that because he certainly did not have the reputation of an alcohol-fuelled musician - nor as a drug-taker. But apparently in the last 2 years of life he did binge on alcohol hard sometimes - as he must have done whilst on holiday with his family in Spain, where he died - because it's assumed that such a high B.A.C. caused him to have a heart attack, and he died in his sleep. He passed away on my birthday, btw - 6th February, 2011.

I had the privilege of seeing him live in London twice in concert. At a concert at Brixton Academy I caught and then dropped his pick at the end of the gig. I also saw him support BB King at Wembley Arena. I will never get sick of listening to his musical genius

Every carefully considered note, every bend, every ounce of feedback rips at the very essence of our existence. Every pain, every disappointment, every unrequited expectation in Gary's life was allowed to bleed into this performance. And to think that just one year later, he was dead. My f*cking word, the injustice is unspeakable. It's certainly more than I can bear.
