Gary Moore and Phil Lynott (with Neil Carter and drummer Charlie Morgan - thanks midnitebluesful), performing:
Out In The Fields,
Military Man,
Still In Love With You (only the very start of it though).
'ECT' was a heavy rock TV programme in the mid '80s, broadcasting on Channel 4 late at night it had no presenters and just cut from band to band.
Still very hard to take in that both Gary and Phil are no longer with us.
Sorry for the quality but it's been captured from an old VHS tape.

Saw Gary Moore at the Hammersmith Odeon , towards the end of the show he said “ I swore Id never play this song again … well I’m a fucking liar!” … then introduced Phil Lynott and they played Parisian walkway. Very soon ( weeks I recall) Phil passed away 😓

What a most brilliant song by Gary & Phil, with its true story of war and conflict, Listen to the song on the b side Military Man, a story of a soldier's life, listen to the words, they will make you think, I find it very hard to look at Phil during the last few years of his life, I could see sadness, pain, deep suffering on his face, I still miss Phil Gary & Rory and I always will

Out in the Fields was the song that first interested me seriously in Heavy - even though most would be hard pressed to fit it in that category. It didn't take me that long (as a non -native schoolboy) to work out the lyrics, and they stuck ever since. Which doesn't mean they're easy in any way. RFC came on top of the buying list soon after, and Military Man is the second standout track from it. A brilliant song by Phil, both music-wise with its complex against-the-grain rhythm and changes, and its touching lyrics. I get wet eyes 36 years on listening to it. Both of you are sorely missed, boys. Am I right in that the alternative MM version allegedly from this show is a studio dub on the video footage? None of that alternative outro solo at ca. 9:20 to be heard there...

imagen being Phil Grandslam breaks up your so down in drugs in 1984 and Gary Moore calls you on the telephone saying he needs Phil to record a 5min track and that's how Military man was recorded. Jimi Bain and Phil was doing heroin back in 1984 and the cops went in busted Phil, Jimi ran out left Phil on the floor to die if Gary hadn't rung on the telephone i think Phil would had died back in 1984 from over dozing and depression. You can see Phil was happy to be back playing music. Im kind of happy Him and Gary didn't have a fight in the end before his death that they became friends again, So much so that Phil wanted to make a Follow up to this record with Gary Moore.-

I remember this at the time along with 'Still in love with you' unfortunately you can see Phil wasn't well, he'd put on weight in his face, obviously the drugs had taken their toll and he looked out of shape. It's a real pity that this couldn't have become a full time band as it surely would have been something magnificent to see

I wish would get through it but heroin is just vile, at this point his organs were holding on and he had septicemia from the years of abuse, after lizzy broke up and no live aid invite after this I think it was the end at that point, very unfortunate and it should have never got to this point but heroin is heroin and I can’t even imagine what that is like getting off of, but let’s celebrate him at his best. RIP Phil and Gary

@@reubster529 So well said. Phil was soooo talented. And ,as someone who lived thru those times, there was a certain romanticism some people had about the drugs. Those who were objective saw that certain drugs were just poison. Nothing more. They stole your soul as soon as you brushed against them. And Phil got in that undertow. Almost noone gets out. We all lost out. Phil lost his life. We lost his poetry, songs, wit and charm. He was and always be the authentic guy we knew. Heroin is no match for his legend. We still love you,Phil. Same ,as Gary....miss you both terribly. There is no replacing you both. And you knew it.
