Fantastic interview Russ, Gary was a superb boxer, beat Crolla twice, beat Coyle who was unbeaten at the time, and took on Walsh who was unbeaten too at the time, such a bloody shame, the BBBoC should be bloody ashamed of themselves, we all need to get this traction and get Gary the Lonsdale belt which is rightly his!

Gary Sykes gave us some great fights, loved watching him, sad to see him this way. The board of no control should be ashamed of themselves. The boxing family need to get behind this, and get this warrior the belt that is rightfully his #justiceforgarysykes

Sad to watch this. Gary looks like a shell of his former self. Its clearly taken a toll on him and not just the emotional turmoil of not owning this belt outright and being fully recognised for it. Robert Smith was on TalkSport last night. He is available to speak on boxing for them but not to discuss this? Its a shame we can't get Simon Jordan on the case as he offered to pay for legal costs for Bradley Skeete so he is very much against injustices like this.

Good luck for the future Gary, & well done Big P for shining a light on former fighters who are having a tough time, as most of the KZbin boxing channels seem to ignore.

Well done Julian for sticking by him Gary was a very good fighter. These lads need looking after they spill their blood for our entertainment . These wealthy promoters should have sett a fund up to help fighters they earn millions and dont take a punch. You would not get this in any other sport. Hard to watch Russ but thank you for showing it

I’d forgot about Sykes till I saw this. He was great, so were all the other lads who he fought. Everyone seemed to fight each other back then, the recent past. Prizefighter was a great thing. Imagine a punk like Conor benn risking his ‘0’ on that. Afraid to say boxings gone downhill.great vid Russ. Good luck to Gary . He deserves better. God bless McGowan. What a top guy

Good tough interview porky well done...Gary isn't punch drunk, the slurrying speech is more than likely from medication he is on for mental health... Hopefully Gary gets what's he's looking for and finds some peace of mind

I’m from dewsbury, always followed Gary’s fights, beating crolla twice, some feat!! seen him knocking about lately and obviously isn’t himself which is sad to see, what a pick up for him it would be to get the belt outright, be nice to see him in a gym training
