First heard him in my car, shortly after a divorce that shouldn't have happened. It was "Songs about Rain". Never thought much about that song, til the last couple of days for some reason. So, I wandered over to KZbin wondering if I would find it and to my surprise, there it was. I hadnt heard much of Gary Allen before, and after I listened to this song, Smoke rings in the dark, I thought this music is from the depths of that mans soul. Very soulful country, if there is such a thing. Not much music like that anywhere, let alone in the country music scene. Oh, by the way, Now I am happily remarried, to a woman who would probably give her life for me. Didn't think there was a love like that, shes as solid as it gets. Blessings to all.

He'll be doing a benefit concert for a family that got scammed out of their money by a jackass who told them he could get Jason Aldean to perform there. Here's the story: This family's little girl was diagnosed with leukemia and this jerk scammed them out of $9000. The worst part is that the wife knew him since high school. Once Gary Allan heard that news, he stepped in and decided to give them a real benefit concert. The show will be held on March 25 and all proceeds (including ticket sales) will go to the family. Thank God for country singers.

These lyrics will forever be embedded in my memory when I had to cross paths with a guy I absolutely lost myself in. While dancing to this song I had to hold in the anxiety I felt while he pulled up a chair closet to the dance floor and just sat and watched. This song in that moment I will forever remember of a time of a to good to be true relationship.
